June 27, 200619 yr Miguel Tejada - SS - BAL - Jun. 27 - 9:48 am et The Washington Post reports that Miguel Tejada has been linked to the ongoing investigation involving Jason Grimsley's affidavit. We're not sure why this tidbit was treated as an aside and buried in the 12th paragraph of the column. It is the first confirmation we've seen of the Tejada link to the Grimsley affidavit, although there have been rumors. Grimsley and Tejada played together for parts of two seasons in Baltimore and the newspaper speculates that Tejada has been "sulking some of late" due to being linked to Grimsley. The increasing trade rumors probably aren't helping either. Jun. 27 - 9:48 am et Source: Washington Post

June 27, 200619 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) Tejada has had his name thrown around before in connection to Jason Giambi as well. Do you mean Rafael Palmeiro?
June 27, 200619 yr QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:54 AM) Do you mean Rafael Palmeiro? Nope. Tejada and Giambi played together in Oakland.
June 27, 200619 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) Nope. Tejada and Giambi played together in Oakland. oh really........you dont say. But wasn't it Palmeiro who stated that Tejada gave him the Vitamin shot or whatever that he blamed on his testing positive for steroids? p.s. I could be completely wrong here
June 27, 200619 yr QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) oh really........you dont say. But wasn't it Palmeiro who stated that Tejada gave him the Vitamin shot or whatever that he blamed on his testing positive for steroids? p.s. I could be completely wrong here Yes, Palmeiro did say that. Tejada already had some suspicion on him because he played in Oakland with Giambi and the other abusers, so I think Palmeiro kind of just picked an easy target to deflect blame off of himself. I mean, Tejada could have actually had a part in Palmeiro's steroid abuse, but I think he was just Raffy's scapegoat.

I could be completely wrong here I'm pretty sure you're right about that.

June 27, 200619 yr Interesting thing to notE: His stats havent fallen off in the last few years. Pretty stable. Only a few less home runs. but nothing massive. his RBIs and Runs Score were lower than usual, but it might have just been because Baltimore was bad last year.
June 28, 200619 yr QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) I think Canseco also speculated that Tejada juiced. Mark up another name he's probably gotten right in his book.
