He strikes out looking because he's being incredibly patient, which is another reason his walk total has jumped since last year. You take the good with the bad.

 

Yes, but when you have speed, you're supposed to put the ball in play no matter what. Juan Pierre isn't a good player, but he knows his job is to put the ball in play.

Our minor leagues needs to begin producing legitimate talent, because I'd rather take chances with an emerging talent than paying him a ridiculous contract.

This team now has 2 good pitchers and 3 very bad ones.
