Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

But I'm going to move to a new apartment soon. (I live in Chicago.) I don't want cable television, but I do want to carry along internet. Is there anyway to get Sox games on MLB TV without them being blacked out?

You should be able to get them. I'm almost positive.

I don't think you'd be able to get them because you live in the Chicago area, which means the mlb.tv games would be blacked out.

Oh spiff.....showdown. :fight

Correct. They are, however, available shortly after broadcast in most cases. Being in CA, I rely on MLB.tv for most of my viewing and am generally only subject to Nationwide blackouts.

Fox owns the rights to broadcast, it's up to them when to let MLB.tv air games.

Nope you cant get them at all... I put down my information and everything and I cant get any whitesox games. Answering to the area code question... I have a friend in Texas who I let use my account and he can get the whitesox but cant get Rangers/Astros. So it doesnt matter what information you put down.

If they are a game that you are being blacked out for, they don't become available until 6 AM (EST) the next day.

If your zip code is here, you'll be blacked out for White Sox games: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/components/video/tv_2003/zip_cha.html

It actually basis it by your IP so it knows the area you are logging in to and IIRC you can no longer get it to work by using a proxy IP as MLB came up with a way to prevent it.

Yes, you'll have to "trick" MLB TV into thinking you aren't near Chicago. The way to do this is to use a free anonymous proxy server. Just do a search on Google and you'll find a bunch.

LOL, there is no way for MLB to prevent it. If you are using an anonymous proxy, you might as well be at the location of the proxy server for all MLB knows.
