Lopez makes a lot of money but keeping him away from Boston may be the difference between being the WC and making tee times. FWIW, I'd take Sal Fasano anyday over Alomar. I know the Sox coaches love Sandy, but being a nice guy doesn't win you games. His "presence" obviously hasn't had the positive result everyone had hoped.

 

 

Fasano was the original guy I wanted off the scrap heap, if for nothing else than that awesome stache.

How does Nick Punto have a .400 OBP? It's amazing how consistent the Twins offense is at putting up a lot of hits every day now. Morneau's been the MVP of the AL over the last two months.

The approach was nice, back up the middle.

For a guy who rarely hits a homer, Pods sure does fan a lot.

Lose 3-7 mph on a fastball and even Liriano looks hittable. With the lost in velocity also comes less tilt on slider. Less variance on a changeup.

 

Instead of people teasing you about this, they should be optimistic. If Liriano has some lingering elbow problems, it greatly enhances our WC chances.
