JD has been on fire the second half. Unreal.

More like the whole season....as long as Vincente Padilla isn't pitching. :P

The ball just flies off of his bat! Thanks Leyland for putting in Jones.

Yes, Thank you very much! I'm very surprised he didnt leave Zumaya in, a 3 run lead looks unsurmountable now

Granderson brought that back. Wow.

Todd Jones is the worst closer by far on any contending AL team.

Are the Royals considering contending LOL Burgos is BAD!!!

FWIW, Jenks is warming up.

No offense to K.C., but with K.C. up next, and a save situation here against the team we're chasing, this is Bobby's game.

The only way I'd leave Thronton in there is if we score another run here

I

BTW, fathom...Mac's career GO/AO ratio is 2.42.

Is Todd Jones the brother of former closer Doug Jones. They are both equally good.

If we score another run here, I bring Riske in. No reason to wear Thornton out either.

man, that was a cookie

I am a little surpised the Tigers have not been bitten by their lack of a dominant closer more often.

Jones gives up more deep fly balls that are caught on the warning track than any pitcher I've seen in a long time.

id rather secure the win this is a big one. Not that I dont like Riske but i have a lot more faith in Thornton/Jenks.

GOOD JOB BRIAN!

I know he has been awesome the whole season. But since the all-star game, he has raised his batting average almost 10 points and hit 6 homeruns, not to mention his hitting streak right now.

I'd let Thornton start the inning, and bring in Jenks if two guys reach base.
