I cannot believe that I am the only one in here who has any classical, jazz or soundtrack music in their iPod. I do see one or two blues tracks, though.

I'll make a bet that I have more jazz music than you. :P With 15,000 songs in my library, the odds that "shuffle" hits a jazz song is probably is about 1/100 when I can only put down 10. I have plenty of blues and soundtrack music too. A little slim on classical, but its there. Also note all the folk shuffle hit in my library, eh?

3. Tim Buckley - Pleasant Street

Tim Buckley is waaaaaaaay better than Jeff. And most people don't know who the hell he is.

song to the siren is the saddest, awesomest song i've ever heard...well...up there...however...jeff buckley means a lot more to me. For a debut album, it was beautiful, and fresh, and sounded like early nineties but didn't sound like it came from early nineties at the same time. Timeless. But tim buckleys discog is a goodie thats for sure.

For where my money is at, Asleep by The Smiths is the saddest song on earth.

Am I the only person left in the world who doesn't own an Ipod?

Nope. I don't use these newfangled mp3 players, I use a NetMD MiniDisc walkman. It offers the convenience of a CD player with more music and complications!

New category -- shuffling "Guilty pleasure" songs. Or, as I would label it, songs you'd never let friends know you have in your possession. Suppose it all depends on your group; perhaps some would include rap, or country. I'm fairly sure several of my songs would draw laughter if you actually knew me outside Soxtalk. :D

1. Just Another Day -- John Secada

2. All I Want -- Toad the Wet Sprocket

3. Bus Stop -- The Hollies

4. Take the Long Way Home -- Supertramp

5. Jumper -- Third Eye Blind

6. Found Out About You -- Gin Blossoms

7. I Want To Know What Love Is -- Foreigner

8. All I Need Is A Miracle -- Mike and the Mechanics

9. The Way You Do the Things You Do -- Temptations

10. Dawn (Go Away) -- Four Seasons

OK, I'll shuffle with Jim, but he better be opening some great microbrew and allow me to skip ahead now and then, or have a good story why I should listen to one of his obscure, I'mcoolerthanyou, tracks

The beverages of choice this evening have consisted of a nice 750 special reserve Dogfish Head weizenbock (very high marks), a St. Peter's Cream Stout (nice, but no lactate character, hence my questioning its categorization as a cream stout), and a couple Shipyard Brewer's Choice brown ales that I've been meaning to try.

No good stories as to why you should listen to those obscure tracks in question (the Beatles were a band from the 60s, fwiw :D ). And, you're not cool enough to hear 'em anyway. :P

BMags, with the Smiths, CCR, and Velvet Underground represented, you're almost there. Remember shuffling was invented by old guys, why else would they call it shuffling? If it was young guys it would be hip hopping :D

Jim, ok, I'm in. Who's beach, yours or mine?
