Sweeney should play some winter ball and work on his speed approach also. With his sweet ass swing and doubles approach, he could be sweet to replace Prancer.

 

I am not sold on picking up 900 year old Dave Roberts who is Prancer II the older version.

Granted it's only 2 ABs, and those ABs haven't changed anything but Sweeney needs to get regular starts the rest of the way.

props to vasquez, he's been really good for a about a month now, and yes i remember he screwed up a 6th inning a few times still, but at that point he usually had only let up like 2 runs, our offense is, really disgusting, disgusting.

I wouldn't be opposed to it because we could use Roberts and slowly ease Sweeney into the situation. I think it would be a nice situation, plus Roberts can also back up in CF.

If we did somehow make the playoffs, I would go with Garland, Buehrle, Vazquez, Contreras as the rotation. And maybe even leave Garcia off the playoff roster.

I think Roberts is going to get a lot of money this offseason though, as his numbers are real good. I'm still a huge fan of making a run at Mathews Jr. for LF.
