Even this year they were "in it" until the last two weeks, and that's a far cry from so many other seasons. I know we all wanted them to play better and repeat. And many threads will be dedicated to the failures to do that while we wait for '07.

 

It's hard to watch them play this bad. But they will be back in '07, I believe it.

I just hope everyone has finally learned this lesson: No matter whom the Sox acquire in the offseason, you can't look at a roster and declare it "the best team in baseball".

 

The "best team in baseball" is determined by who plays the best on the field, not by who looks good on a piece of paper.

Unless Williams realistically intends to upgrade two spots in the rotation (one is practically guaranteed with Garcia and McCarthy), this team won't do much. This VAUNTED starting pitching staff needs to be upgraded.
