Those are in trouble even with a win over Iowa. And even if they make the dance, it'll be a quick exit.

Bruce, your seat continues to warm. You better get somebody in recruiting, because today's exposition of your Valley level recruits on your own floor was a joke.

This isn't surprising. When the Illini were trailing in the middle of the 2nd half against powerhouses like Idaho St. and Florida A&M, you could tell something was wrong. Bruce Weber is the worst recruiter among the BCS basketball programs, and it's catching up to him.

I agree, but when a team comes to your house and shoots 34 percent and you STILL lose by 18, that's an embarassment beyond comprehension.

Well, he still deserves a little time to fill the roster with a couple classes, but it appears he is behind the 8 ball so far. Illinois was due for 1 or 2 down seasons and this just happens to be the start. Its alarming at first when your team needs to rebuild, but its a neccessary evil.

Wow, what a game. The prince from UCLA whose name I know but can't spell hits a 3 to tie it with 22 seconds left, now Oregon (who only has 1 loss) gets a jumper from Brooks to go up 2 with 14 seconds left. Shipp for the win, no good. And the #1 team in the land falls at Oregon, and here comes the student section.

And DePaul follows up a horrible, horrible road loss at St. John's with a nice road win at Villanova, continuing their consistently inconsistent play this season.

Too bad my jayhawks will probably lose tomorrow or they are looking at top 5.

DePaul 73 - 65 nova

Sammy showed up, which is always nice. We look good when he and Chandler play well.

Still sucks that we lost to st johns, but this was a nice BE win on the road.

Iowa State's "structured chaos" versus Missouri's "40 minutes of something or other" tonight.

Should be an ugly game.

Ahh this is why I love college hoops. I wake up, and NIU has a 9 game losing streak and tons of injuries. I get home from the game, and we're tied for 1st in the MAC at 1-0 after an exciting home win in a rivalry game, over Western Michigan. The same WMU that beat Virginia Tech (who won at Duke today) on a neutral floor. So from 9 game losing streak, to 1st in the conference and better than Duke in 12 hours. Still too many guys hurt though, lol.

ISU strikes down Mizzou in Columbia, 66-65.

So, Mizzou ball, up 1, 11 seconds left. Mizzou inbounds, and Hannah travels in the corner. ISU ball with 7 seconds.....inbound to Clark who goes up, passes it to Taylor in midair who launches up a 3, misses it, and Wesley Johnson grabs an offensive board and puts it in with 2 seconds left. Mizzou didn't have a shot.

Missouri was up 54-40.

Hannah needs to learn to not move both feet.

I wish he could have done that in the ISU/UMN game earlier this year...

He's so feast or famine. He had a couple those "What?!?!?" threes too.

Iowa State won because of their defense, pure and simple.

Northern Iowa holds off SIU 66-61, to go 4-0 in the Valley. Evansville goes from being 10 or 12 back to up three on Creighton at halftime. All of Creighton's losses have been on the road. No reason another one cannot be added here.

So, apparently, Big 12 officials and Iowa State have teamed up to really stick it to Mizzou athletics.

Matt Lawrence did get the ball in to Stefhon Hannah in the corner. Hannah was immediately double-teamed by Iowa State. The end result was that Hannah fell to the floor and was called for a travel. How he got there was open to interpretation.

"I thought he called timeout," said Missouri coach Mike Anderson. "He told me, 'Coach, I called timeout.'"

"He didn't call timeout," countered Iowa State head coach Greg McDermott. "He was right there in front of me."

"I did," Hannah said. "He looked right in my face and looked me off…He was looking at, I guess, the Iowa State coach. I'm calling timeout, I'm calling timeout. I fell, I still had my pivot, though. I made sure I kept my pivot. He called the travel because the Iowa State coach called the travel."

Creighton has a big 2nd half and beats Evansville 75-62. So much for that idea.......

If you were playing any other team I might agree with you, but Mizzou athletics find ways to lose things. Their athletic program is so bad it's not even funny, it's expected. It would figure that Mizzou would get screwed again. Hopefully they can do something in the NIT to gain experience or something.

IU jumps out to a 12-4 lead against MSU....... I'm really starting to like this team.

IU kicking MSU's ass. I've become convinced in recent weeks that IU is the 3rd best team in the big 10.

Sure would have been nice to see that 73-51 ass-whipping of MSU. But with CBS' regionalization, there is no way for me to see it. Not satellite, not game plan, nuttin. I ended up seeing the last 2 1/2 minutes after the exciting Kansas - South Carolina beatdown was complete.

Now I gotta go to a friend's house Wednesday night because cable doesn't have ESPNU down here. It shouldn't have to be this hard.

I really despise espnu. We have a good amount of games on espnu and we can't even get it if we wanted here at home. Thankfully I do get it at school, otherwise I'd go insane.

Wow, IU is definently the sleeper team in the big ten.
