Plenty of snow up here in the NW burbs

Schools are cancelled out here in Harvard. There is a pretty decent amount on the ground. Just waiting for my wife to get home so I can battle the roads. Why couldn't this have waited about 24 hours? Damn nature.

Have a hunch this is going to "just miss us" only getting a few inches at the most.

I think it is fair to say... you were very wrong. lol

PS: I thought the same thing too.

It is still all rain in Michigan City, while downtown is a slushy mess.

Damn, it's 38 degrees here, after being in the 80s yesterday  and I'm heading to Galveston where it will be even colder. I'd rather be heading south, but with all the Inaugural fun, I think I'll stay stateside for a while.

Apparently so. I was sleeping about five minuts ago, and the kid next to me is blasting "Let it Snow". Figured something was up, and then the people running up and down our floor yelling "Snow Day!" sealed it.

Beautiful. Can't remember the last time I had one of these.

Crazy. Well enjoy it, you lucky bastard. :P

I chose against work today. :D

I admit it. I paid Tom Skilling to give school kids false hope and dread for you old foogies.

I had already taken today off for my daughter's parent/teacher conference, and I just got back inside from the first shoveling session of the day.

What fun it is.....

Screw that, I'm waiting until noon-ish. Then I am calling Larry and asking for his snowblower. He braved it and went to work. Seriously, I mainly stayed home due to not having anything to do there and also the wife worked 16 hours last night. I was running late for work due to waiting for her to get home. So, add these together:

Crappy weather

Nothing to do at work

Kid home from school

Wife worked 16 hours and needs sleep

Issue 2 needs work

Makes sense to stay home.

I agree 100%.

I had to shovel, though, because of the conference and because Larry lives too far away from me.

:D

Haha.

Smart ass.

While it is very cold here today, at least all I'm shoveling is b.s. and sunshine

WTF we only have 5 inches as of now. Why is school closed?? Oh well, I'm not one to complain.

I flat-out refused to go to school this morning. I take a bus-train-bus route and get there in an hour and thirty.

Took my own personal snowday instead.

Lake County getting owned.

"working from home" for me

I officially have the worst car for snow ever. My car got stuck in the middle of the damn driveway had to have someone push me into my garage.

It's a little chilly here today, only a high of 69. In all seriousness though, I'll probably see at least one person bundled up in a scarf today.

Ditto.

But, being a consultant, I suspect you always work from home on Fridays anyway.

My sister just called me to taunt me about having a snow day. (She's a special ed teacher.)

We're supposed to get that storm tomorrow. But right now it's 65 and drizzly.
