Why is that official? Maybe Ozzie meant that BMAC should have befriended some veterans to teach him more about the majors, maybe to give him some guidance. Why automatically does it always have to be so negative. It could have even been a joke between him and Brian. There are assumptions on both sides, and they are probably ALL wrong.

Ozzie's reply was that he didn't get to know most of the team and that maybe it's hard to be very positive whyen he was pitching like crap. He could think of 5 situations where McCarthy blew games. If he hadn't blown those maybe we make the playoffs.

He never meant any disrespect toward the Sox at all. He is happier being on a younger team rather than an older one. He was trying to be positive for his new situation.

He didn't say the clubhouse was negative, he said guys in the clubhouse weren't his age and weren't single. He said the Sox coaching was focusing on the negative, as in, 'Don't do this', and he didn't react well to that sort of coaching. It's not bashing the club, but, hey, the word "negative" was there.
