March 11, 200719 yr QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) Someone on another board said they were an 11 seed on there. I was assuming there was at least one at-large with a 12 or 13. If not, then I'm wrong. Nope, he has them as last team in. A few teams have higher seeds than where they should be due to inter-conference matchups, etc.
March 11, 200719 yr QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) So the most accruate bracketologists(collegeRPI.com) have Illinois in with room to breathe. Lunardi was much more accurate than Jerry last year.
March 11, 200719 yr Illinois probably should get in, but they'll be out due to the lack of even a single quality win. Also, quite a few mid majors will get at larges (Drexel and Appalachian State for instance). Hope I'm wrong though. Also, today's action made the 4 #1 seeds awfully easy. March 11, 200719 yr Author I think Lunardi is wrong on Illinois, they're gonna be in. I just don't see leaving out a top 35 RPI, 20+ wins and a winning conference record in the Big 10.

Appalachian State getting in would be one beyond ridiculous. Look at some of the teams they lost to. Elon, Wake Forest, Furman, and UNC Greensboro. Any major team has those losses and they aren't even being discussed.
March 11, 200719 yr haha Purdue gets a 9 seed and we get a 12 Ide rather play Va Tech over Arizona anyways
March 11, 200719 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) Illinois couldn't ask for a better situation. Nope. Could definitely see us making the Sweet 16 here. Virginia Tech is pretty Jekyl or Hyde though. They play some great games and some really bad ones.
March 11, 200719 yr QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 05:20 PM) Illinois couldn't ask for a better situation. looks solid so far.. wins over Va Tech and Southern Illinois doesn't seem impossible

The only thing is that VT might have the two best defensive guards in the country, and will make it tough for the mediocre guards of Illinois to do anything.

March 11, 200719 yr Syracuse had a terrible resume. I don't know why people are going nuts over thi. RPI of 50, lost early in conference tourney, scheduled a very weak non-con schedule, etc.
March 11, 200719 yr I thought Missouri St. should've been in, I could name a half dozen teams that should've been in instead of Stanford.
March 11, 200719 yr Author Stanford beat 5 solid tourney teams, I don't see why everyone is up in arms over them getting in.
March 11, 200719 yr QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) Stanford beat 5 solid tourney teams, I don't see why everyone is up in arms over them getting in. Especially now that their best player is healthy. They can easily beat Louisville.
March 11, 200719 yr So Arkansas and Illinois both got in as I said they should. I can die a happy man.
