Is missing the strikezone, failing to exceed 91 mph, and giving up inherited runners considered positive?

That bad? I have a feeling Jenks will be on the DL sometime during April.

Why is that this team simply refuses to make a pitcher work by fouling off good pitches or letting them go rather than swinging at everything.

They never fouled off tough pitches last year. We'd take so many called third strikes. I'll have my Pods called 3rd strike counter going this year. Someone should keep track of how many times Thome takes a called third strike on a full count, and starts running towards first to try and sell it.

Grinders don't make pitchers work. They get the bat on the ball and run hard to first.

:cheers

Let's look at the two reasons listed by Hawk to explain our failures last season:

-We beat ourselves more than 2005. Lack of fundamentals

-Lack of adrenaline

I suppose pitching never factored into the equation.

Spring training is a carbon copy of the second half of last season. I don't give a s*** that it is only spring training this is what this team did last spring.

Back to back strikeouts by Jenks.

Hawk? LOL.

Hawk is the guy that at '05 Soxfest told us all that the '04 team was one of the finest he had ever seen.

Catcalling ensued. Guffaws were many. Jokes made their way around the SRO people in the back like wildfire.

This year he tells us our chances are good for "Another ring" if we don't "beat ourselves."

Wannestadt-ian!

Cmon Jim. It's Spring Training. This s*** don't matter.

I was thinking the same thing as Hawk and DJ.

You pull a muscle attempting to stretch a double into a triple in a blowout I'll f***ing kill you.

And the spring before that, basically.

Forget the blowout. Anytime during Spring Training.

He's fine. And he wasn't going 100%, he actually had that triple pretty easy.

Yes

Yeah, on top of that.

we almost arent horrible

almost

At least Danks' ERA for the spring will be a little below 6.00. Not exactly the stiffling spring training competition KW envisioned I would guess.

MacDougal is sure wetting the bed this inning.
