Since I was rained out, do I have free reign to start this one? Or was I blocked? I don't want to test fate and be a jinx, :D :gosox3:

No, I think you'd have to be excluded from starting this one. People get excluded if they merely start a losing game thread, whereas you started a thread that got the whole damn game canceled. Sheesh.

:)

Thome's not likely to play this weekend, which really stinks cause we're facing 3 lefties. There's been hints that his injury is more serious than has been reported, and it's probably 50/50 now that he goes on the DL. If this is a muscle issue, he could easily reaggrevate it throughout the year.

I heard the exact opposite. Ozzie said Thome and JD could have played today, and even yesterday, but didn't want to risk it. CSN also reported that Thome felt much much better. He said so himself in an interview.

Not what's on chicagosports right now. Dye would have played, not so for Thome.

I think fathom is right. I heard on the Score that Thome's injury could be much worse than they're letting on.

Bernstein made a reference to being told by someone within the organization that this could be the type of injury that lingers all season. I don't even want to think about our chances if we're going to have Thome out for stretches this year.

Quoted from chicagosports:

"The extra day of rest should help most injured Sox recover from nagging strains, although DH Jim Thome (rib cage) may be held out until next week's series in Seattle."

Thome being gone is going to ruin our entire season.. *prays to the lord almighty* please, please let him heal.

well it would look a bit more like the 2005 whtie sox without thome in the lineup... Evertt anyone? haha.

if our pitchign keeps up there ways, we shud be Allright without thome.

We thought 2005 was toast with Thomas.

Who am I kidding, it would be a looooong summer without Thome.

Thome was available to pinch hit on Wed. Ozzie might keep him out for one or two more nights, but I highly doubt we'll see the DL here. Tomorrow is supposed to be great weather, my bet is he is in the starting line-up.

Ervin Santana is utterly retarded on the road. We SHOULD score at least 5 off of him.

We also should have scored at least 5 off of Durbin.

he may suck on the road but he scares me. i could be wrong but i dont think the sox hit him well.

You are wrong. They do hit him well here.

my favorite ervin santana memory is when Konerko asked the ump to have him tuck in his shirt in game 3 of the ALCS. He then promptly planted the next pitch in the left field bullpen.

That'd be Game 4. John Lackey pitched in 3 vs. Garland. But still, a very nice memory.

Thome is DH tonight..

Career:

Home: 33 games, 218 IP, 21-5, 3.01 ERA, 1.12 WHIP 16 HR allowed

Away: 27 games, 142 IP, 9-13, 6.78 ERA, 1.58 WHIP 26 HR allowed

People need to quit acting like this guy is still Johan Santana.

Those numbers will start to average out soon enough. The guy's a good pitcher at 24, splits be damned.
