White Sox vs. Cubs, 5/20/07 (W)

Cotts is so bad. But again, why do people put pitchers in against their ex team ever? It's a freaking hex, and the managers around baseball aren't learning either.

You have got to be kidding me. Erstad can't run the bases, we get pansted the Lee move again, we somehow DON'T pinch hit Hall for Pierzynski with a lefty out there, and a grand slam.

It is just our day, I can't believe how lucky we are, lol.

Why would Hall have hit for AJP? When you're up by 2 in the 7th inning, you better keep your best defensive player at that position. Also, Erstad did the right thing, as that ball didn't get very far away from the catcher, and it was just good running by Thome.

Why on earth are pitchers so bad against their former teams? It's been amazing to see all over baseball this year in that regard.

Beat me to it.

Can you give a few examples? I'm rather curious.

In that situation, with all the emotion and knowing how AJP thrives on that kind of stuff, you let him hit. Yes I understand the %'s and Toby can hit, but seems to me this board is on Ozzie's behind about the lefty/righty stuff, no? Anyway it worked out so we can all be happy!

still the wrong f***ing call to let him hit.

Not really. You put Hall in and he's at D, and let's say he'd stranded the runners, singles are triples and it's a different game.

Great job AJ Pierzynski.

That really made my day

we scored 6 runs yesterday today going to be 8 or more, did the Cubs win the series but awaken our offense? one can only hope so.

IT'S AN OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION!!!!!!!!

Well this is good to see.

Awesome!

holy f*** what a throw

Also. lets thank the Cubs for getting our lineup hitting again

LOL, what was that throw????

Lou is pulling an Ozzie here. Bring in the relief pitcher against his ex team (bad move), leave him out there until the game is completely lost (worse move). I love it though, at least we aren't getting swept.

wow, that was such a horrible throw from right field

Jim Thome was the spark.

Thank God for that inning, i still love this team

Great inning.

"Everything is irritating me," a visibly upset Williams said. "I hope something changes. I hope we go out there and play to our capabilities to a much more consistent level. This is embarrassing."

Heads22 I did not see that quote, where is that from, the official site?

My reaction to that is two fold,

1. Good it's about time

2. Uh oh. Someone, or more than one, is going to be shipped out.

Everyone knows that if AJ struck out, we'd be calling for Ozzies head. But since he hits a grand slam, it was the right move. Props to you, SoxTalkers.
