Pertty.

Thank you White sox

Bullpen squirts itself for the 3rd day in a row, but the Thome affect makes it not matter. Masset beating Zambrano is always clever to look back on.

Good to see the offense wake up a bit and salvage a win. Hopefully Thome's arrival can get our offense going.

Hell Ya....another White Sox winner!!!!

Also, that last play was awesome to watch, but how did Soriano not beat that easily with his speed? That took a long time to develop.

Thank GOD.

He thought it was gone.

Great game Masset!! I made some money today!!!! Predicted before the game we would get the win!! OH YEAH!!

We have now beaten Carlos Zambrano twice (4-2 against us career). Once it was Felix Diaz for his first MLB win, now it's Nick Masset for his 2nd. I guess next time we face Zambrano, we should start a young guy with 2 career wins. Either way, I love that stat.

We gave them game 1, but we shoulda took 2 outta 3. Well, considering we gave them game 1 we shoulda swept the damn series. I'm glad we salvaged this one, because Masset v. Zambrano did not bode well for us. Great job by Nick.

Masset's start should change some minds concerning his immediate future. Not necessarily in 2007, but over the next several seasons.

His fastball this afternoon was consistently 92-94 mph with movement coupled with a tight breaking ball. Considering how this was his first start major league start, sustaining good velocity through 5+ innings is rather impressive.

Out of the bullpen -- where one would assume Masset might 'air out' and throw harder -- he's shown no difference in velocity from this afternoon. He's more valuable to this organization as a starter if today is any indication.

The remainder of this season will determine his future. I'm sure he'll find several more spot-starts before 2007 concludes.

I missed it. Why did Danks not pitch today?

This is what I was saying about Massett last night. He might not be a tick below Jenks in the upper 90s category, but he has a good fastball, a nice two seamer, and a good curve. If he can throw more strikes and get aggressive we may have something there. Danks and Massett for Bmac. That is a nice trade so far.

Soriano's hamstring has been bothering him a lot lately. When he was coming around 3rd base earlier today he didnt look near to full speed. I think he is gonna see the 15 day DL in the next month or so.

Just for the record, I called he'd have a good game considering him instead of Broadway, Haegar, Floyd and whoever else said someone from AAA should come up.

Masset has impressed me since day one, and this helped. He's one of very few guys in the pen that don't make me curse when I see him at this point.

Glad to get one win. Shoulda gotten at least two this series.

I'm worried about our bullpen.

crede again with the tightness in his lower back. Only took until mid-May. Good call, Borass.

Cisco + Macdoogal = nitro + glycerin

Nice misspelling there. It gives me a great idea. I propose a nickname for Andrew: Crisco.

Good job Massett.

He was great.

Nick Massett was great to watch today. He was pitching to all parts of the plate, and wasn't afraid to get the big out. The kid has a future here as a starter.

Of Masset's first 12 outs, only three were in the air, with three via the k and 6 on the ground. As he tired a bit, he gave up 3 flyouts out of his last 5 outs as the ball stayed up a bit more, but early on when he was fresh, he was a ground ball machine. And also, after the 1st, he didn't have a single walk until the not so stupid move to walk Aramis in the 6th to get to Daryle Ward in the 6th (not his fault our manager took him out, begging the Cubs to PH Lee for Ward in a huge spot AGAIN).
