Welcome to the show, Jerry Owens. Well done Gooch, and you couldn't touch Vazquez or Jenks tonight.

Safe to call this one Flashback Friday?

i thought i'd never see it again.

we won. holy crap

Congrats to Owens! Great game kid.

Also, a little welcome back for Gooch, we missed you. Nice 1-2 punch there. If they can continue to hit even close to that, and the 3-4-5 start to hit, this offense will be back quick.

Lastly, congrats to the pitcher formerly known as Javieer "5th inning" Vazquez.

Great game. Great job Jerry, Javier and Jenks. Keep it going tomorrow!!!

JERRY OWENS LEADS WS RUN.

Color me pessimistic

Jenks our lone all star.Well done.

solid game tonight. I was worried Bobby was going to be rusty, but he looked excellent

Wow, good game by Javy.

Hopefully Owens can light it up.

Good job by Jenks!

HA.

Vazquez was fantastic -- my new favorite word -- tonight. Without actually looking through every start, this was probably his best start since his last effort in Toronto when he K'd 12 (?).

For the gun watchers, Jenks was at 97 and Javy hit 93 several times.

I think it's time to send Day or Gonzalez down and get Craig Wilson up here. That'll give us an averagish platoon in LF.

Nice 'aesthetically pleasing' game to watch. Burnett had a sick breaking ball working.

Javy! Way to go. Well at least the bleeding stopped; for now. I'll take it.

please Boston...don't let NY get on a roll before they come to Chicago.

If we could stick a shiv in the Yankees while they're here that would be a real confidence-booster.

Wilson had his first homer tonight for Charlotte.

Thank you Javy for making the Sox win on my birthday. A nice gift. Now get on a roll and it will be even better.

:cheers :cheers

the only problem with the game today is our 3-4-5 (thome, konerko, and dye) were 0-11 combined. not good there

Mark and Javy have given the bullpen a nice breather.

Is that you Big Z? :cheers Happy B-Day!

Owens still isn't a CF, but he was our most ready Of and it's nice to see him do well. If we insist on a Podsy LF, he's not a bad option.

Nice to see a Winner thread for a change. Only got to catch a few innings tonight, but looked good.
