June 5, 200718 yr Oh f*** you Greasy, your f***ing fast. I bet you had the thread ready to go before the final out was recorded. Don't lie! Edited June 5, 200718 yr by TheOcho
June 5, 200718 yr We really need to find ANYBODY that can get bullpen outs besides Jenks. Nice to see the offense look a bit better tonight, although half the runs were gifts, but beggars can't be choosers. Awesome job Garland, Konerko, and Iguchi at the plate only. June 5, 200718 yr I really wanted to see one of the new guys tonight when it was 6-1, kinda glad it didnt come to that.

June 5, 200718 yr QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) Thank God Ozzie went to Jenks. Brilliant move. I concur. Man, though, you see these guys in the Sox bullpen and you've got to feel sorry for Ozzie. He has zero options aside from Jenks and maybe Thornton. Or you've got to go bats*** on him. One or the other.
June 5, 200718 yr ... I'll take any W... ugly or not. On the other hand, Garland was great. I thought we were in trouble with his laboring 1st inning. Really good work by him to settle down and work into the 9th. Can't say that enough, he really did earn that win. Nice job by the offense to put up some numbers. Go get em tomorrow Buehrle. Fantastic avatar. You're post...meh.
June 5, 200718 yr Ozzie is a bigger man then me for taking out Garland. Right now, this bullpen is untrustable with any lead. I wouldn't have cared if Garland was nearing 200 pitches... The biggest thing about tonight was PK coming around. I personally love PK and he has been favorite Sox player since coming here in the Mike Cameron trade in 99 I think it us. It saddened me and pissed me off to do so bad. And the sad thing is that today was an offensive outburst at 6... Any other team scores 10-12 tonight. But hey, Ill take all we can get. Anyone else still wondering how JD missed that 2-0 nothing straight fastball right down the middle in the first?
June 5, 200718 yr The panic was starting to set in when Thornton walked that first hitter and then gave up the hit. For crying out loud what is the matter with these relief guys. Jon Garland was awesome though. The offense was better and if hitting is contagious maybe we will start seeing a turnaround.
June 5, 200718 yr Figures. Sox win against the Yankees, an hour later the post game thread hasn't reached its second page. The Sox lose, 5 threads are created, 3 by the same person, and the board crashes 5 minutes after the final pitch is thrown. Edited June 5, 200718 yr by santo=dorf
June 5, 200718 yr If the starters can go 8, the Sox are in good shape. Garland was great tonight. There even were some hits.
June 5, 200718 yr Just got home from the game. It was pretty tough to get a read on the ump's strike zone tonight. Seemed very generous on the outside corner, but only at times. Of course, from where I was sitting, I couldn't tell high/low worth a damn. There were a lot of Yankees fans in attendance. The cheers in the first inning when they scored their first run were too loud for my liking. But we Sox fans got to go home happy. Well, happy except for when I think of our bullpen (before it gets to Jenks, anyway). But still, I'll happily take the win.

Jon was dropping a few over the inside corner and he never got one called. Also Thome saw a few that could have been called.
June 5, 200718 yr QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) was bobby really hitting 98? Highest on the ESPN gun was 96
June 5, 200718 yr QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) An all-around solid game (ehh bullpen)---great job JG and offense! Garland is the f***ing man. He's been the best pitcher on the southside over the past 2 seasons (plus what has been of this season).

Agreed. I think it may be time to start thinking of extending him again rather than even messing with Buehrle.
