He told Ozzie he could play, same with Owens.

KW doesn't have any better answers in the minors. Do you PH Andy Gonzalez or Owens there?

Seriously?

What's Cintron going to do, say he can't play? If he keeps telling them he's feeling soreness, then you put him on the DL based on how he's looked in the field/at the plate this year. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that he's nowhere near 100 pct in terms of strength. You can call up Sweeney, as you already have Gonzalez to be the middle infielder on the bench.

I get the sense they don't want to keep yo-yoing Sweeney.

Hasn't he basically been "treading water" since we sent him down? If we're going to bring up Sweeney, we might as well just ditch Mackowiak and let him play in LF everyday, for better or worse.

Which means we might as well just DFA Pods and Erstad too.

Good throw by Terrero...better arm than BA for sure, or Rowand.

Wow, tererro has an arm!

That was a hell of a throw.

Nice throw.

Does anyone have a clue on our team what a line drive is. Outside of our bullpen. Everyone pops everything up. Especially on low and away. They pull off every pitch trying to turn and burn.

well, at least Iguchi hit a line drive...

Gonzalez sucks.

Add him to the list of failed callups. You'd think it's impossible to experience immediate production judging from our system.

haha, awesome, a guy with a 3.80 ERA

Pathetic.

From a web site that teaches kids how to hit.

Question: My cousin is in a hitting slump. He keeps hitting pop ups and I'm trying to get him to focus on hitting line drives but he always drops his back shoulder. How can get him to hit line drives?

Answer: Depending on age, many kids "fight" their way out of slumps by over-swinging and trying to hit "moon shots". Like an untrained boxer, we slug away - off balance - beaten and frustrated. With a trained hitter there is more purpose and precision. There is a sense of hitting "2-irons" down the middle - low line drives - Frozen Ropes - to the center portion of the field. Don't worry about the back shoulder right now. Get the focus on proper visual mechanics...tracking (seeing) the pitch as soon and as long as possible, and directing the force of his swing toward center field (through the pitcher, as if throwing an axe on a horizontal plane).

Maybe around August Walk will start to break down their swing and help them out. Considering he is not busy helping the vets, you would figure that he could help the kids out a bit.

Gonzalez was never expected to do well.

WTF.

I assume the board is being weird, but if not, please stop.

How do we get shutout, against a NL team, in a homer park.
