October 7, 200718 yr 2-0 Tribe after Trot goes yard. Hopefully the last game we will see Roger Clemens ever pitch. One of the greatest, but go away already!
October 7, 200718 yr Were it not for Schilling and his big mouth, Clemens would be the biggest tool in baseball. It would have been a great day if both could have pitched their last major league game today.
October 7, 200718 yr I just tuned in to TBS.... Did I just hear that Clemens left the game after a couple innings with a pulled hamstring, similar to Game 1 of the '05 WS? Is that Clemens' gimmick so he doesn't take the L?
October 7, 200718 yr QUOTE(Linnwood @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 06:46 PM) I just tuned in to TBS.... Did I just hear that Clemens left the game after a couple innings with a pulled hamstring, similar to Game 1 of the '05 WS? He looked hurt the whole game but removed him after a strikeout so the Booyah Network can drool over his last pitch ever resulting in a K. Is that Clemens' gimmick so he doesn't take the L? They yanked him after a strikeout. He seemed hurt all game. Now the Booyah network can drool over his last pitch ever resulting in a K. Edited October 7, 200718 yr by Brian
October 8, 200718 yr Westbrook just wasn't very good today. You could tell throught the first couple innings when he was behind every hitter. I'm really hoping Torre starts Mussina tomorrow, but he will probably go with Wang.
October 8, 200718 yr I still think Cleveland wins the series, so it doesn't really matter, but I a little disappointed that we didn't get the unusual four series sweep.
October 8, 200718 yr Yankees got a huge break with that 305 foot flyball by Damon being a 3 run home run because of the ballpark the game is in. It's a series now though, assuming Paul Byrd is still pitching game 4 for the Indians.
October 8, 200718 yr Anyone other than me think it was potentially quite wrong to use Joba yesterday for 2 full innings when you were already up 5 runs? I mean, yeah game 3 is an elimination game and you've got to make sure you win it, but he came in when it was 8-3. What happens today if it's a 1 run game in the 7th?

October 8, 200718 yr QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) Joba comes out and pitches. But they have babied the guy all year, and he's not used to pitching back to back days. And the Yankees are making the right move going with Wang tonight. He wasn't very good in game 1 and he will be on short rest, so it will be interesting to see how he does. If the Tribe can get to the Yanks pen early they should win.
October 8, 200718 yr The equation for a guaranteed win is: Wang's sinker*short rest+pitching at Yankee Stadium = success

Umm, I believe the Yankees said that they were going to take the kid's gloves off with Joba in the postseason, and I'm sure he'll be alright.
October 8, 200718 yr Even though he gave up a homer - he looked like he was throwing a bit too hard - Wang looks so good already. It could be a really long night for the Indians offense. Byrd can't give up anything, and the Indians have to hope to get to the Yankee bullpen.
October 8, 200718 yr I don't have high hopes for Wang. I expect him to give up four and go six, no more, probably less.
October 8, 200718 yr QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 05:52 PM) 2-0 Tribe. Bottom 1, ARod comes up with 2 on and one out and K's. Go figure. Anyone else think that both Torre and A-Rod are out of the Yankees organization if they lose this series?
October 9, 200718 yr QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 06:55 PM) Great job Kenny Lofton! Ridiculously lucky.
October 9, 200718 yr QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 07:05 PM) what a bunch of s*** Agreed, they just showed his hand and there was no mark or redness. Basically impossible if you get hit by a 94 MPH pitch.
