Soxtalk Fantasy Baseball

Featured Replies

Yahoo Fantasy Baseball opened today, so it's time to start forming the Soxtalk leagues again!

For those of you that may be new to this, Soxtalk hosts a number of fantasy baseball leagues so you can compete against your friends/rivals from the board. I believe we had 8 leagues last year of varying formats/experience levels. The number of leagues will vary depending on participation.

If you're interested in participating, just make a post in this thread and we'll set you up with a group for a league (it'll probably be at least a week before I finalize rosters, please be patient). Please include the following information:

1) Your relative level of experience

2) Your preference in scoring format (head to head or roto)

3) Your previous league # and whether or not you want to play in that one again

4) Whether or not you'd be willing to be a commisioner (I'll do two, but I'd personally like to avoid doing 4 Soxtalk leagues again :bang )

I'm in, years of experience. I like head to head, roto is cool too. You pick. Go ahead and put me in the same league, I don't care (can't remember the #). I shall be commish if needed.

Id be down again, last year i missed the draft and didnt do that great so I need to revenge that horror.

I'm in for another team besides the keeper league. Zoom knows my experience. I like head to head format. I don't care if I'm in the same league before, but I would ask to be in a league with Zoom, Soxfan1, and other guys that I know are active. I would be a commish if I needed to be.

You don't remember the league number, huh? Well, iirc, it was league 2. Might want to saunter over to that thread and check out the results. Y'know...when you have time...

I'm in. And I'm friggin awesome. ^_^

Fairly experienced, and I stay active. I was in league 2 last year, I'd def do that again. I mean, all of it, including the winning. That was h2h, but if the leagues change, I could do either h2h or roto. Commish if necessary.

Competitive here. I like roto but will play h2h as well.

1) Been playing fantasy baseball for 6 strong years. 80% performance rating in Y!, 2 first place soxtalk trophies and one fourth place, damn you Jackie  I guarantee I will be active and check my roster.

2) League Preference: Head to Head, although I'd also do Roto

3) Was in League #2 last year and would love to play in that one again everyone was active and competitive, wouldn't mind changing leagues if I have to though.

4) I could commish if I must but I'd prefer not to.

Edited by ChWRoCk2

I've been playing since 2001. I have a 75% performance rating, somewhere around there.

Head to Head is best but I'll do Roto if there needs to be more teams.

I was in #4 and #6. I really liked #4, but whatever you need me to be in is fine.

I would rather not be a commish, but if you need someone I'll do it.

1) Your relative level of experience---I've been playing since 2001.

2) Your preference in scoring format (head to head or roto)---H2H

3) Your previous league # and whether or not you want to play in that one again---I would play in wherever needed

4) Whether or not you'd be willing to be a commisioner (I'll do two, but I'd personally like to avoid doing 4 Soxtalk leagues again)---I would gladly be a commissioner. Just PM me or email me.

Put me down for league #2, Zoom.

And no offense to Soxfan1, but there's a reason why he doesn't remember what league he was in. He usually quits after two weeks. Please, for the love of god, don't put him in league #2.

I'm in. I believe i was in league 5 last season (the roto league). Not to be pushy, but i would prefer to be in a H2H this year if its possible.

Thanks Zoom

1) Your relative level of experience : not that experienced, played the last 3 years

2) Your preference in scoring format (head to head or roto): roto

3) Your previous league # and whether or not you want to play in that one again: havent played yahoo

4) Whether or not you'd be willing to be a commisioner (I'll do two, but I'd personally like to avoid doing 4 Soxtalk leagues again: no

Years of Experienced

Head to Head preferred, but will do roto

Don't remember the league #

Not really on the commissioner, but if needed will be.

I'd like to play in a head to head league.

I do a league at work every year but am not experienced. I usually do poorly.

I would prefer being in a league where the league picks the players for me rather

than a draft format.

To summize. ...

head to head matchup league.

I am inexperienced and have a history of not doing well.

not really interested in doing the draft, would rather the league pick my players

then i make trades, etc.

don't wanna be commish.

I've played in plenty of leagues, including here.

Head-to-head is the way to go.

I think I was in a league last year but I don't remember the number. I can be in a different league, that's fine.

I can commish if need be.

I'm down of course. I finished in 2nd place in both Soxtalk League #1 and #4 last season. I really only like head to head, roto tends to piss me off. I'm also willing to fill in spots in multiple leagues again this year, I have no problem staying active with 2 or 3 teams at once.

I have several years of experience and always stay active. I would prefer head to head because I hate the maximum games played rule in roto and I just didn't fare well in League 5 (roto) last year (6th place), easily my worst season. I've never been a commish, so why start now.

I have never posted on this site before, but I have been coming here to get news and other people's views for a long time now.

1) Your relative level of experience-----I have been playing for the past two years. I'm very active and I have an 84% rating in Y! fantasy baseball. It would be higher had Corpas given up one less run on the last day of the year.

2) Your preference in scoring format (head to head or roto)-----Definitely head to head. I can hardly stand roto.

3) Your previous league # and whether or not you want to play in that one again-----I have never been in a soxtalk league.

4) Whether or not you'd be willing to be a commisioner-----No thanks.

Also I want to be in a league with the poster above me (BigEdWalsh). Besides wanting to be in a head to head, that is my only other must.

What can I say? He wants to play in a league with the best. Actually he's my son and we've been in other non-Sox Talk leagues together before. We're very competitive and neither of us likes to lose to the other. If you'd be so kind to put us in the same league that'd be great.

I'll be in #1 again (need to avenge a porous season that followed an unlucky draft) and obviously the keeper league.

1) Your relative level of experience - I've played since about '99

2) Your preference in scoring format (head to head or roto) head to head

3) Your previous league # and whether or not you want to play in that one again i think i was in #3, but i'll join any league

4) Whether or not you'd be willing to be a commisioner - no thank you, i commish a few other leagues already

Why's he in your league then? :P

I'm in League 1, but I will be as many leagues as needed.

Prefer H-2-H

Yeah, I'll commish one again.

I have played in the head to head the last 3 years, I am in for League #2 again.

I'm in. Countless years. Roto or H2H is fine. I was in leagues 3 and 6 last season. Doesn't matter which league I'm in. Would like to get in a keeper league if available. I'm open to commishing.
