December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 03:51 AM) Not true at all. Touch is the ability to correctly gauge distance, angle and ball flight to both deep and short routes. Touch is the ability to be able to read the correct distance, velocity and angle on a throw at all different lengths of throws. Like the great pass to Finley a few minutes ago.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) Well, when referencing a quarterback, usually "touch" means taking a bit off a throw. When talking about deep balls, Orton needs to put more on it, not put touch on it. He underthrows a lot of guys deep. Putting touch on deep balls would be more like lobbing one in or something, which he doesn't need to do. The trajectory is fine, the distance is not. Not true at all. Touch is the ability to correctly gauge distance, angle and ball flight to both deep and short routes. Touch is the ability to be able to read the correct distance, velocity and angle on a throw at all different lengths of throws.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) No doubt in my mind that Rex is better than Orton right now. If Orton's coming back next year, I can only pray his terrible 2nd half this season is due to the injury. Rex was no better than what Kyle's doing now. Don't kid yourself. They're both mediocre-bad QB's.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) Like the great pass to Finley a few minutes ago. thats just bad aim, pretty good touch on the ball actually since it was easily catchable by the defense.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 04:53 AM) thats just bad aim, pretty good touch on the ball actually since it was easily catchable by the defense. No, I meant the pass by GB on their last drive.
December 23, 200817 yr I am far from a football expert, but if you blitz all your LBs, like we just did on 3rd down, why not have the CB's up on the WR to take away that quick pass?
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) How about a running game? The 1-2 yard run on first down doesn't do it for you?
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) How about a running game? I tell you what- I'm not sure about you, but I haven't seen 1 f***ing hole from Forte from this pathetic f***ing OL.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) The 1-2 yard run on first down doesn't do it for you? If we have tried to run the ball off tackle and not up the middle, I missed it.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) I am far from a football expert, but if you blitz all your LBs, like we just did on 3rd down, why not have the CB's up on the WR to take away that quick pass? Because it makes sense. We don't do things that make sense.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Because it makes sense. We don't do things that make sense. Babich needs to be fired and Orton needs to be a backup. I would have absolutely 0 problems with Orton as our backup but he is not acceptable as a starter.

December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 04:57 AM) Aside from Forte, have we really had any positives come out of this season? G-reg is a Pro-Bowl caliber TE
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) G-reg is a Pro-Bowl caliber TE Except for that one game early in the season where he was a 6'5" turd. Hopefully that just ends up being the worst game of his career. Otherwise, Olsen is great, and Clark is also good so he's a luxury.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) Except for that one game early in the season where he was a 6'5" turd. Hopefully that just ends up being the worst game of his career. Otherwise, Olsen is great, and Clark is also good so he's a luxury. Yeah, I guess we had consistently good performances from guys we expect, like Briggs and Gould. I was just contrasting how I feel at the end of this Bears season to how I felt at the end of the Sox season this year. I was/ am optimistic about the Sox because we had the emergence of Danks, Floyd, Rameriz and The Carlos Quentin. I don't have any optimistic feelings about the Bears.
December 23, 200817 yr We have a stud, automatic mismatch in Olsen and he has like 10 catches in 5 weeks. This is a joke. Turner and Babich need to be canned. Bring in Garcia next year and draft a QB in the first 4 rounds.
December 23, 200817 yr For as much s*** as I talk about Ron Turner, this offense has exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Which isn't saying a whole lot, but is still something.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) For as much s*** as I talk about Ron Turner, this offense has exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Which isn't saying a whole lot, but is still something. While I get what you're saying, it's so frustrating. Forte finally gets a ball thrown his way and he takes it for 13 yards.
December 23, 200817 yr QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) For as much s*** as I talk about Ron Turner, this offense has exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Which isn't saying a whole lot, but is still something. He doesn't exactly have a lot of talent to work with here. Thank you for making my point, Marty Booker.
