I agree. Why so careful with him, but not with the other guys? Buehrle made only 3 starts last September, was pushed back in spring training and pushed back a game in the first 2 weeks of the season. It may not be something serious, but there has to be something.

When he was struggling in 2006, wasn't it because he was throwing everything to the outside corner?

PK strikes out. He looked lost too.

Wow, Konerko looked silly in that at bat. Not one guy has tried to hit this pitcher the opposite way.

Think if Rich Harden could actually stay healthy. This would be one sick staff.

I personally think he's a guy who usually during his career has had pinpoint control. I think when his location is off, even just a couple of inches, he's very hittable.

That was the worst inning by our 3-4-5 in three years.

Dye pops out. 3-4-5 had a really bad approach that inning.

Smith starting to command that change up very well.

Thome, Konerko and Dye looked like Uribe, Ramirez and Hall that inning.

Have you just erased the beginning of last season from your memory? Probably a good idea! Seemed like we saw that inning once every game from even the middle of our lineup

Groundout to Crede. 1 out.

MB K's buck. 2 out.

Yes, but rarely do you see Konerko swing and miss as bad as he did on that 0-1 count.

Another two strike hit allowed by Buehrle. On the bright side, his fastball got up to 87 mph.

THAT is a bold statement - there have been some really dark times in the last three years!

I don't understand why hitters refuse to constantly step out of the box on Buerhle. He pitches so quickly, you have to try to throw off his rythm.

Buehrle was throwing 88 on his fastball and 78 on his changeup to Mark Ellis.

Buerhle's keeping it close. The Sox will score soon. I think this inning.

Mark not great but getting the job done through 5.

He might be losing velocity out of the stretch. I saw the 88, but then he was throwing 85 once a man was on base.

Uribe's defense is just fantastic.

Woo hoo !! 1000 posts . I'm now a September call up. Took me 3 2/3 years . :headbang

I always think Quentin's going to bomb one off of these soft tossing lefties.

It always seems that the day after we score a ton of runs, we can't even score one.

Since I'm following on gameday is that sarcasm?
