Mauer has thrown out over 50% of base stealers against him the last 2 years. Sure, Podsednik probably helped those numbers, but yea....

Honestly, I don't think you use up BA pinch hitting for your DH. Not with his defense. I'd consider sending up OC.

Keep Thome in...at this point, you'd rather have him in the lineup to face Nathan in case the Twins win. Also, you'd lose the ability to put Anderson in defensively.

Thome entered today with a .942 OPS against lefties this year. So on second thought, this might be the correct play.

He only comes in defensively when it is blow-out. BA will not be in this game today unless there is an injury.
