George Carlin Dies

As a die hard fan of bitter, sarcastic humor, I will miss Carlin. Perhaps his greatest achievement was living 71 years with a heart full of cocaine, but I digress. He will be missed, Carlin and Pryor are the first two names you can put on any great comic list IMO.

We should do a "people I can do without" tribute thread!

In tribute to GC's passing...HBO is going to be airing all of his specials...from 1977 to this past year....

HBO tribute

He'll definitely know if his views on religion are correct now.

HBO tribute

I was anticipating this. Time to dust off the blank VHS tapes.

Here's the schedule, BTW (link wasn't working when I tried):

Wednesday

# 7 p.m.: “George Carlin at USC” (1977)

# 8:30 p.m.: “George Carlin Again!” (1978)

# 10 p.m.: “Carlin at Carnegie” (1983)

# 11 p.m.: “Carlin on Campus” (1984)

# Midnight: “Playin’ with Your Head” (1986)

Thursday

# 7 p.m.: “What Am I Doing in New Jersey?” (1988)

# 8 p.m.: “Doin’ It Again” (1990)

# 9 p.m.: “Jammin’ in New York” (1992)

# 10 p.m.: “Back in Town” (1996)

# 11:05 a.m.: “You Are All Diseased” (1999)

# Midnight: “It’s Bad for Ya” (2008)

What about Complaints and Grievances? The one he did in 2001. It was originally gonna be called "I Kinda Like It When A Lot of People Die" but then 9-11 happened. I guess even George Carlin has limits.

Worst Carlin-death headline

seriously....that's all they could come up with??????

LOL. Whoever wrote that article obviously had no idea who George Carlin was. Not one reference to his life as a standup comedian. He probably heard his name mentioned, browsed through Carlins IMDB trivia page and then put together some bits of information.

lol that's kind of the equivalent of saying "Albert Einstein, co-creator of the Einstein refrigerator, dies at age 76"
