What's the purpose of putting this in the Dem thread other than trolling?

Maybe I'm a concerned Democrat

Obama, in the midst of the worst recession since the 30's: 49%.

Bush, when the economy was much better, bottomed at 19%.

Obama has used up his capital is some stupid ways, but also some smart ones. The 2010 midterms should be a worry for him, but as of right now, he's still not having to worry about re-election. Unless the GOP has some superstar up its sleeve (which is possible), if Obama's popularity stays as-is, he wins easy in 2012.

Now, if the economy double-dips and gets uglier than it is now, well, that's another story.

If employment does not recover, Obama's approval ratings could become very GW Bush like by 2012. Obama has only been in office for a year, so a lot of people are giving him some time.

If the double dip happens, and the economy totally crashes, it's over. He might as well not even run.

But you're right, it's too early to be talking about 2012.

I just figured that the President is on a Reagan-esque track.. meaning that in 25 years, all candidates will try and emulate him.

This is being talked about because it's on the front page of the Drudge Report. Another reason Matt Drudge is f***ing obnoxious.

I'm surprised that AHB doesn't post a daily tracking poll - oh wait a minute. ;)

ah, once again, the only person you can make fun of on this forum without worry is AHB.

Trying really hard to maintain my Sarah Palin commentary blackout...

But I gotta love the fact that she agreed to sign 1000 fans' books in Noblesville, IN this week (you got a wristband, if you were one of the lucky fans.) Apparently after 850 fans got their face time, Palin decided it was time once again to "pass the ball to victory."

She left early, again.

I can make fun of you anytime. But you'll just get pissed off.

From the ultra liberal news channel MSNBC last night:

Chris Matthews: "President Obama has his chin out on just about every hot issue out there," Matthews told viewers, adding, "Health care. Terror trials. Job losses.... Is he just too darned intellectual? Too much the egghead? Why did he bow to that Japanese emperor? Why did he pick Tim Geithner to be his economic front-man? Why all this dithering over Afghanistan? And who thought it was a wonderful idea to bring the killers of 9/11 to New York City, the media capital of the world, so they could tell their story?"

I don't really know why Matthews counts as part of the "liberal media," he's really just a hack.

I was just providing another example of how MSNBC is the liberal version of Fox News. Could you imagine anyone on Fox saying something like that about a Republican President?

Meh the presence of Joe Scarborough hosting a show in the morning (nevermind who Mika's father is, she is easily convinced by whatever Joe says) and the fact that Pat Buchanan is taken seriously on that network already kind of throws a big dent in that. Of course MSNBC is biased overall, and is pretty unapologetic about it, but they aren't anywhere near as good at blatantly pushing an agenda and dominating the direction of a national argument as Fox is. If they really were trying to be the liberal Fox they would try harder.

Ahh, I think Pat Buchanan is just one of those characters that everyone gets a kick out of, regardless of political affiliation...

Except for Women, Jews, African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Homosexuals, and a fair number of white males.

Once again, MSNBC is liberal leaning, Fox is republican. The National Review, for instance, is conservative. The Weekly Standard, bats*** republican.

Larison - conservative. Kristol, et al. - Republican.

There is a difference between political ideology and party ideology.

Sign reads:

"A Citizens Guide to Revolution of a corrupt government.

1. Starve the Beast.

2. Vote out incumbents.

3. If steps, 1 & 2 fail?

PREPARE FOR WAR--LIVE FREE OR DIE!"

More dumbness:

A billboard on a car lot in Wheat Ridge, Colo., is displaying a somewhat cryptic message: "President Or Jihad?"

The billboard, which shows a cartoon President Obama in a turban, also says, "PROVE IT! Wake up America! Remember Ft. Hood!"

The message replaces one that read, "Where's the birth certificate?," which was supported by radio host Peter Boyle and right-wing site World Net Daily. The owner of the lot, Phil Wolf, donated the space.

Reached by TPM, Wolf Interstate Leasing & Sales general manager Wayne Means said the billboard is "self explanatory."

"It doesn't really matter who's running the country, Democrat or Republican, they're not running it right anyway," Means said. "God Bless Mr. Obama, he's probably a nice guy. [but] his strings are being pulled."

Oh come on...there are people that actually take the guy seriously?

He's reached Harry Caray type status for me...you just watch to be entertained more so than to actually take anything he says seriously...
