50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS

It's like debating if sushi tastes good or if Kerouac is the greatest American writer. How can you debate someones favorite?

Poor example, Kerouac is clearly not the greatest American writer. :P

Where is Thome?

He missed the list.

He missed the list.

That's kind of ironic. Thome is one of my favorite players in baseball, but he's a Tribe guy in my mind. I totally respect him.

Where would he have been ranked? 51st? 52nd?

Thanks for doing this great project. Was happy to do my tiny part. THANK YOU!

Please tell me Jurassic got some votes. I fully expected him to be decently high.

Crazy Carl would have been ridiculously high on my list. Top 10 probably.

El Duque, Jurassic, Oscar Gamble and a few others just missed.

I'll do some math tomorrow afternoon and print #51 - the rest.

Clearly not? Hmm, I wouldn't go that far. I'd go probably not, no great poems, no truly great short stories, he only redefined novels. :P

Heads22

Marte? The second half of the 05 season made me lose any liking I ever had for him.

Ugh, how could I leave Cal Eldred off my list? I just realized I did. He was really the first pitcher I idolized, which I guess is kind of pathetic.

Oscar Gamble was so likeable. I wonder if I remembered to put him on my list.

OK who voted for Sammy Sosa? Your fan card has been revoked :lol:

That zero of the Southside Hit Men made the list surprised me.

What did he do to make you stop liking him?

He was the oldest player to make my list. Literally one of the first players I can remember from my childhood.

After thinking about it, the biggest issue I saw with voting for those guys is their short White Sox careers.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 08:41 AM)

5.03 ERA and 16 walks in 19.2 innings during the second half of 2005. I cringed every time I saw him enter a game.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 04:54 PM)
With all the hate Javy is getting the last few days about him not being a "Big Game Pitcher", it makes me think people forgot the problems Marte had.

My favorites were more lasting than strictly performance based. If that was the case, we could just have had the greatest players to play for the Sox list.
