bunting aj 3 times, then ramirez who is amazing with RISP and good against LHP esp with ryan having a bit of trouble finding the zone. The fact that he forgot for one pitch that PK was down at first and didn't PR just inviting JR to GIDP

I'm so frustrated right now. This was an easily winnable game that was lost by a lethal combination of dumb managerial decisions and a lack of execution.

 

Get 'em tonight. We still have a chance at gaining ground over Minnesota today.

I HATE BUNTING! It seems like I have to say this once every week with Ozzie at the helm. And please, get AJ out of the f***ing 2nd spot in the lineup, and move Dye to 4th or 5th.

We knew it was going to be tough without Q. Just gotta hope the guys can step up on offense, but its just gonna be tough down the stretch.

When a guy is wild like Ryan was , you just can't automatically call for a bunt especially with one of our best clutch hitters up and having the lefty / righty matchup also. Got to remember that if a pitcher is wild , not only is he throwing balls but even balls in the strike zone might not be just where he wants them to be. If he grooves one that plays right into Ramirez' strength.

well, KC over the last ten games is tied with Det for best record in the division, 5-5... hopefully they remain "hot"

Jphat knows I agree with him that we're just not a WS contender without Quentin. However, I will cringe if I hear Hawk and DJ say that this could easily be the 3rd World Series title for Ozzie if not for the injuries to Maggs, Frank, and now Quentin.

Haha. You can't take the best hitter off of a team that has pretty much carried them in big situations and act like it's no big deal. The team obviously can't worry about it and they ahve to try and win as many games as they can, but we knew that the offense would struggle without Q down the stretch.

One more thing, I don't like the fact that Alexei was bunting, but maybe OZ was auditioning Alexei for the 2 hole with that call. Too bad he failed miserably.

With or without him we're in a good position to win the division. Most of us thought we aren't WS contender even with Quentin. Pitching , defense and timely hitting goes a long way. All we needed was a double in a key situation like Overbay got. We have plenty of hitters who are capable . Doesn't even have to be a hitter who steps up. If Richard pitches a good 2nd game we split.

You don't have to plea. I love the season the Sox are having. We have a chance to make the playoffs. Can't say that 80% of the time.

Bunting Lexi was obviously not a smart move...and I honestly don't think Ozzie called for every one of AJ's bunts...maybe the last one. Either way...you have to excecute at this time of year. These guys need to get there heads out real quick....

Our perspectives should be a little more unified today after that pitiful display of bunting we saw . Not Ozzie's fault the players didn't execute but it is his fault when they keep failing and he keeps calling for it.
