Our team doesn't want to hit. Zach Jackson absolutely sucks. But we can't hit off of him whatsoever.

Here comes a big inning for the Sox. Book it.

This team is really in trouble...even though we could still theoretically make the playoffs on Monday, STILL.

We have to do a fire sale on Vazquez and Swisher at their lowest possible value. I wonder what KW will come up with in the off-season to keep the season ticket holders from revolting? Sox Fest will be interesting again. Angry Sox fans are more dangerous than apathetic Sox fans.

I wouldnt call for a fire sale. If anything we uncovered Floyd, Ramirez and Quentin and Danks improved. Its nice to have some young talent to build around instead of aging power hitters.

Ozzie, do not go to the pen at all today. Let Richard finish this and hope he keeps it close and the offense shows up. But as of now, stick with Richard the rest of the way and get the pen fresh and ready for tomorrow's win and Monday's win.

I really think Ferentz is going to re-sign after this season and take an NFL job. I don't think with his $3 million contract that Barta is quite ready to fire him, but Good God, his record against ISU and Northwestern is reason enough...he's going to land in Steve Alford territory, not to mention the rape case bungling that's hanging over the campus and 20+ criminal citations for the football team.

My co-worker's dad is a huge Iowa booster, and said this is Ferentz's last season no matter what.

Swisher needs to go where there is absolutely NO PRESSURE to win......

Pittsburgh

Ya know...I've never really been pissed at Quentin for his boneheaded move until just now. He really f***ed this team.

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 08:32 PM)
Didn't you hear? I mean, Swish wasn't even available. Kenny had to pry him loose.

Baaaaaaaad move? Yyyyyy-eeeesss!

Yep and then we got him and played him out of position the entire year, but Kenny made up for that by bringing in Griffey, who hasn't been a credible CF in 5 years. So in essence, Kenny has loaded up this team with a bunch of Designated Hitters...Konerko, Thome, Griffey...hell, even Dye is a DH now (or maybe LF) and I see NOTHING Swisher does that well except draw some walks, which doesn't help much when you have no speed and you're a station to station team.

The entire make up of this team sucks. I want less all or nothing hitters, a real CF, a bit more speed, youth and enthusiasm. This team is a wretched jalope.

I will say this right now...This team is not coming back, this team is not winning the division, this team is done.

I will gladly eat crow, but I don't think I have to worry about it.

I wanna make Richard the freaking setup man the rest of the way at this point.

I don't really see why people are still getting mad at this point. This team making the playoffs isn't going to make me feel better about their season. It's actually a little embarassing if they do.

It's a combo of the 3. Damn I love Sam Adams Octoberfest though.

Whether we win or not. These things need to happen...

1. Vazquez - traded

2. Cabrera - let go of

3. Swisher - traded

4. Thome - bought out

Put Dye at DH and sign some guy from free agency.

Trade for a pitcher or sign somebody not named Garland.

Hope Linebrink can pitch next year.

I really like Clayton.

Maybe we need one of those 6 run innings we had back in Minnesota.

I'd bet only 1 of those is going to happen.

I don't mean the entire team, just Vazquez and Swisher (and Cabrera will be gone).

Although I wouldn't be shocked if Swisher is back, because what can KW get for him realistically...? But the other two, no way!

I would seriously think about considering the best possible offers for Jenks and Thornton.

By the way, goodbye Greg Walker...unless we can somehow make the playoffs. Sounds strange, but true.

I really like Clayton.

Me too...I wish we'd treat him more like a youngster than Terry Mulholland. We start him for 7 innings one game, and then we have him throwing in the bullpen 2 days later for relief.

Is it too much to ask for this team to win one f***ing game? Christ.
