From what I've read, this election is turning out a lot like the post-watergate Democrat fest. Thanks for nothign GW!

Finally we have you agreeing with the rest of the country.

CNN calls WV for McCain, though it looks like a closer race than you might have thought.

One of my bff's is from WV, and she said WV used to be pretty democratic--lots of union support and support for the working poor. She said that the democrats just kind of gave up on her state after 2000 and that if they focused more there the state would be competitive.

Is there any theories why Ohio is such a strong indicator of which way the vote will swing?

Well, I'm proud of our country for the high turnout levels this year. Great to see.

Kinda of sad they have to have bullet proof glass over the stage at Grant Park.

The only two states that Obama had at risk tonight was Pennsylvania and New Hampshire from the 252 Kerry votes that he had. Given that Ohio represents 20 votes, that brings Obama basically to 272. We won't see any blue states flipping red this year.

Nut cases will travel.

If McCain does a modest concession speech, I will not take it seriously. I really did not like the way he ran his campaign with the smearing and cheap shots.

CNN reports that they've turned the news off in Arizona.

Well Senator Obama...the easy part is over. Now the hard part starts.

Because if all he did was keep the Kerry states and win Ohio or Florida he wins. He won Ohio plus some. We know that McCain is not going to take CA, OR, WA, or HI. It's over.

CNN says if he sweeps the board except for CA, OR, WA and HI, he can only get to 266.

That's for sure, but Man I Am Happy. Finally, a pragmatist and not an ideologist. A professor not a drinking buddy.

When i was just driving home, the McCain party hadent been told about PA or Ohio. But they mentioned ND and WY

The folks at the Biltmore look like that is the last place on earth they want to be.

Well, I guess my question was more of a historical question rather than a present time question. I could have sworn I heard tonite that Ohio was a very strong indicator historically of which way the vote will swing.

Almost as good as an indicator as the monday night football game ;)

I don't think there is really any science to it. Factually over the past many years the winner of Ohio wins the election. No rhyme or reason.

Obama just movd ahead of McCain in VA

So, will it officially be over in 5 minutes when the next polls close?
