The question I have is, do you care? If I recall correctly, he got a DUI and while underage to boot, so perhaps he likes to party a bit too much, and I know any drug use is illegal. But despite all that and the fact that I have never touched drugs and generally find any use of them to be pretty stupid, I don't care if he does them. I doubt it had any affect on his swimming at the olympics or otherwise, and beyond that I don't have any interest or care in what he does anyways.

 

I'm sure this will blow up and be a big controversial story on ESPN though Monday, so get ready for it.

It's my opinion. Obviously, people will be offended. But IMO, who cares? Let him do whatever.

The main problem with this is when the young athlete sees this and says hey I guess I can smoke and still be an elite athlete because Michael Phelps is the best ever in an endurance sport AND he smokes!
