February 10, 200917 yr The Boras grudge has never been so great that they cant get little things done. I believe Crede avoided arb one year at least
February 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (MO2005 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 09:37 AM) Will he be invited to spring you think? According to the article in the link I listed he will be the 19th non roster spring training invitee.
February 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 09:05 AM) His music is amazing. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendID=98450415 I thought you were kidding at first but I checked it out and it's not bad , he's a talented guy.
February 10, 200917 yr We know that Charlotte and Birmingham are going to be good. I just hope somebody can help Danks 2 hold down the fort with the Purple Phallus.

February 10, 200917 yr Anyone have a problem with the sox signing Ben Broussard to a minor league deal. I think its fine, its just an insurance in case PK goes on the DL for a while at some point.
February 10, 200917 yr QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) I thought you were kidding at first but I checked it out and it's not bad , he's a talented guy. As far as athletes go I cant think of any that have went down the musician route that I would say sucks less than Broussard. I mean that in a good way.

I think its fine, its just an insurance in case PK goes on the DL for a while at some point. Why would anyone have a problem with a minor league contract for this guy?
February 11, 200917 yr I can't believe that this thread was actually pinned. That's how desperate this offseason has been, I guess.
February 11, 200917 yr Brandon Allen will probably start the season in B'ham (I hope I hope I hope), but will be in Charlotte by mid season. I'm sure he'll hit about 25 HR in B'ham in the first 70 games. I wouldn't be surprised if Beckham and Danks play in B'ham in 2009. Maybe not at first, but at mid season. Greg Paiml will most likely start at B'ham in 2009. He will complete the story book of being a Barons bat boy, then playing at the high school nearby, then starting 4 years at Alabama, then drafted by the Sox, then starting for the Barons.
February 11, 200917 yr QUOTE (BearSox @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) I'm hoping Jerry Owens as well. 1. Jerry Owens, CF 2. Jayson Nix, 2B 3. Dayan Viciedo, 3B 4. Josh Kroger, LF 5. Michael Restovich, DH 6. Ben Broussard (???), 1B 7. David Cook, RF 8. Donny Lucy, C 9. Javier Castillo, SS That would be a pretty solid AAA lineup. Javier Castillo is no SS. He is a beast of a man, a corner infielder. I have one of his broken bats.

February 12, 200917 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) Yeah, Broussard's got this kinda throaty John Mayer thing going on. I kinda like it. John Mayer must be stopped.
February 12, 200917 yr QUOTE (JPN366 @ Feb 12, 2009 -> 01:34 AM) John Mayer must be stopped. Agreed, Mayer and Zach Braff are two guys that you can just see without even hearing them talk, and know that they’re probably a-holes. In Mayer’s case he certainly is one.
