March 15, 200917 yr QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) A 12 seed for Wisconsin and a 10 seed for Minnesota? Minnesota > Wisconsin This tournament appearance by the Gophers is brought to you by Kevin Payton, Limar Wilson, Brandon Smith, Bryce Webster and the Dan Monson/Jim Molinari combo at head coach. I can't believe that we made it to the tourney only two years after these scrubs were running the program, and I am absolutely ecstatic right now.
March 15, 200917 yr Tournament streak intact, 11 years in a row. No real expectations, just hope for a miracle.
March 15, 200917 yr QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 06:10 PM) Duke gets to Elite-8 and gets hammered by Pitt. Bank it. Texas over Duke
March 16, 200917 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 05:19 PM) Texas over Duke Wouldn't doubt that, either.
March 16, 200917 yr QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) A 12 seed for Wisconsin and a 10 seed for Minnesota? Minnesota swept Wisconsin, so sure. I don't even think Wisconsin deserved to be in the field to be honest, and they will be gone quickly with the matchup they got anyways. The Oklahoma State/Tennessee first round game here might be the most entertaining among the field, and I think Florida State could give Pitt problems in the 2nd round. Villanova should take out Duke (if Duke even gets past Texas, whose size will cause them problems) on the bottom half of the bracket, and Nova/Pitt in a Big East slugfest would be a fun regional title game here. It might finally be Pitt's years to make a deep run, but they have to keep Blair out of foul trouble because when that happens, they aren't very good. Edited March 16, 200917 yr by whitesoxfan101
March 16, 200917 yr QUOTE (Soxy @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 08:00 AM) So, on a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is Duke going to hammer Binghamton? Who knows. Belmont gave Duke fits in the first round last year. Granted, Duke's a bit better than they were last season but this group of Dukies haven't exactly been great in the NCAA's.
March 16, 200917 yr 1st round upsetVCU over UCLA 2nd round Texas over Duke, Fla. St. over Xavier Pitt vs. 'nova for the trip to the four
March 19, 200917 yr This is such a soft region IMO. If Pitt doesn't make the final four this year, they might never do it.
March 19, 200917 yr Gophers tip off tonight at 6:10 You're going down, Texas Edited March 19, 200917 yr by Felix
March 19, 200917 yr QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 09:04 AM) Gophers tip off tonight at 6:10 You're going down, Texas Did you take your Gophers? Just curious lol.
March 19, 200917 yr QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 03:08 PM) Did you take your Gophers? Just curious lol. Yes. I think that Texas/Minnesota is a great matchup, and I like our defensive chances against them. I think it's 50/50 as to whether we win, really. If Bostick/PC/Hoffarber/whoever steps up unexpectedly on offense then I think we have a very good chance to win.
March 19, 200917 yr No Chance, Pittman is going to take a dump on all your big men. Abrams is gonna shoot lights out.
March 20, 200917 yr Man, I am kicking myself for picking Minny, I know what kind of team they are away from home, and yet I still picked them.
