Only thing more sickening than the home run was seeing how giddy that sox fan was for catching the ball.

This right here is the reason why you dont bring in the closer in a tie game.

Your best pitcher in the pen is your closer. A 0-0 game is actually more of a pressure situation than when a closer usually comes into the game. There is no one else better suited for the situation. The decision to bring in jenks was the right one, easily.

Enough already...Ozzie has one thing that you don't have...a World Series ring.

(waiting for the inevitable, "Players won that championship in spite of Ozzie" comment)

Funny, you called it. That's exactly what I planned to say. Anyone who has payed attention since 2006 when this team came back down to earth can see Ozzie as an in-game manager has NO CLUE.

um, bringing in the closer in the top of the 9th, game tied, is common practice. Why is Ozzie getting called out for Jenks catching too much of the plate?

Aw man, Curious George isnt on until 4.

No, really. What did Ozzie do to win that series? Did he pitch throughout the playoffs? No, he put out Sunday lineups that virtually guaranteed we couldn't get on a sustained winning streak because we could never take more than 2/3 in a series.

I like Ozzie, but he makes some terrible, undefendable decisions, especially considering he's been managing for 4+ years now.

Welcome to the party Carlos.

Lead-off double for TCQ!

I agree. If they brought in someone else and KC scored, everyone would have wondered why not Jenks.

hey look, it's carlos quentin.

Why not run Dotel out there to start the inning?

GOD comes through, now for Mr. Incredible

exactly. there is no other pitcher to call on in those situations.

The Sox had at least 3 separate 8 game winning streaks in 05, maybe 4...and notably, 2 of them happened right at the end of the season, where our guys were simply more able to push for a few more games than the other teams were.

come on Thome....bring Quentin homey

If Dotel came in and the leadoff guy hit a homer, you would have said Dotel is a one inning pitcher how come Jenks didn't come in?

that might have ruined the at bat there.

I love Quentin, and I love this team. But something has to be done with all these cloggers in a row.

Thome grounds out, one down, TCQ to third.

A long ball by Dye and we have a tie.

thank god we moved wise out of the leadoff spot, we might have lost!

sup corpseball, at least the twins tigers and i think tribe lost

Dye up, hitting a quiet .455

Assumptions; the ONLY way to argue.

We didn't get shut out!
