April 9, 200916 yr I'd be curious to know what Bobby's ERA is, in non-save situations since 2006, compared to save situations...
April 9, 200916 yr Why was I excited for this year again? oh yea I just love watching these barnburners
April 9, 200916 yr Ozzie managed a good game today...it's just Jenks is not very effective when it's not a save situation. This lineup just isn't going to work. Getz is a patient hitter but still better suited for the 9 spot in the order. The pitching looks great so far, but the offense is miserable. We were a bad managerial decision away from getting swept this series. KW...this mess is on you!
April 9, 200916 yr Really, to keep a team built like the White Sox limited to 1 home run in the Cell in a 3 game series is pretty darn remarkable.
April 9, 200916 yr It' early and I don't want to sound like a frontrunner, but this is f-ing rediculous. The 1st two spring training games I went to, they scored 1 run, in the 9th inning of the 2nd game. Now this. Hit like you can, boys. THis is embarrassing, for you.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) royals won it with a 2 R HR....just sayin Home runs are bad.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) KW...this mess is on you! Agreed.....why can't he be more Angelo like....hahaha
April 9, 200916 yr BTW, as noted in the game thread, it's sickening how many fastballs this team is taking for strikes and offspeed pitches out of the zone they're going after.
April 9, 200916 yr We need a CF/lead off hitter badly. And Greg Walker...what the f*** are you doing? Can someone tell Alexei he's getting nothing but breaking balls from everyone in this division? Do you f***ign job Walk.
April 9, 200916 yr If we had competent defense in RF that 2 run homer woulda been a 1 run homer. Just like yesterday, the first double that ended scoring should've been caught.
April 9, 200916 yr Cmon, now. We'll probably never face three straight pitchers greater than Meche, Grienke and Davies. Right? mwhahahahahah Pathetic. And Jenks was serving meat up there. Did he even throw a curveball?
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) royals won it with a 2 R HR....just sayin OK, so... what are you saying?
April 9, 200916 yr Now I gotta hear the bulls*** for the next couple weeks that the Royals are going to contend for the Central this season. Not that the Sox are a sure contender but the Royals arent close yet.
April 9, 200916 yr It's tough to watch Corpseball. But you have to believe that this lineup will start hitting more consistently. And the pitching as been outstanding so far. If Contreras and Linebrink can stay healthy this season (not likely, I know), this could be a very competitive team.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) We need a CF/lead off hitter badly. And Greg Walker...what the f*** are you doing? Can someone tell Alexei he's getting nothing but breaking balls from everyone in this division? Do you f***ign job Walk. It's been a long time since we had stud young players coming into their second season. Walker's going to have to earn his paycheck this year by helping them overcome the league adjustments.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) It's tough to watch Corpseball. But you have to believe that this lineup will start hitting more consistently. And the pitching as been outstanding so far. If Contreras and Linebrink can stay healthy this season (not likely, I know), this could be a very competitive team. There is no way this team is going to go many series hitting 1 home run.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 08:55 PM) Now I gotta hear the bulls*** for the next couple weeks that the Royals are going to contend for the Central this season. Not that the Sox are a sure contender but the Royals arent close yet. They're a pretty solid team..they've eliminated a lot of the holes they've had in their lineup. If they can find a 4-5 starter, they'll give everyone a run in the division.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 04:59 PM) We are 0-2 in games where we fail to hit a homer. I prefer to look at it as we're 1-0 when we score more than 1 run in a game.
April 9, 200916 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) We are 0-2 in games where we fail to hit a homer. That's remarkable! That's actually funny... you are right, though, this team is going to be the same as the 2008 team, most likely.
