Sox at Tigers April 15th game thread 12:05 scheduled first pitch

Featured Replies

Now we get to see BA against a real right-handed power pitcher that throws 94-98.

Well, he made contact, but he wasn't exactly short and quick, it sounded like he broke his bat almost.

lol alexei looking for first pitch breaking ball nearly walks into a fastball

Where would Josh's flyout and triple have been if he were hitting at USCF?

If BA (or Lillibridge, or Quentin/Thome) managed to bring in those two runs early, then they had at least a 50/50 chance to win this game.

BA is even more important, because they can pitch around him to get to Lillibridge...so he HAS to make contact in that situation.

Well, JD just saved one run there with his height, unfortunately it's too late to matter except for the highlight shows.

How many games have the Sox won the past 3 years scoring 1 run?

triple probably would have stayed in the park, it might have been out...hard to tell really....not sure about the flyout, i dont really remember it so im gonna assume it would have been a flyout everywhere

Probably about as many as most others teams, which is very few.

i fully expect to see a kitty on his ass next inning

There were runners on 2nd and 3rd, it would have been 2-0 with a single in all likelihood.

i understand thats not intentional and this kid is a bit amped up .....but you cant throw 3 high and tight like that with out one of our guys buzzing someones tower also

In 2005. they won 1-0 on opening day, 1-0 the first game after the All Star break, and 1-0 the WS clincher.

What does Betemit have to do to get playing time? We have a guy hitting well below .100 leading off for christ's sake.

Were about to go 0-3 with 2 shutouts when we don't hit a HR

Ide also like to thank WGN for giving me the only two Sox games ive seen this season, and having them both be 18 innings of scoreless baseball..

He's not a grinder I guess, because he actually has some offensive talent.

ironically....probably face a lefty.....which he stinks at hitting

They will have to start Betemit at 2B or SS tomorrow to get some offense, especially if Getz isn't ready (which it appears he will be back).

Ozzie might think about Betemit at SS for Alexei...not sure if he will take the risk defensively.

AJ on second, doubtful. I was think more a SF, which would have been getting the job done.

alright thats 4 ....go kick his butt josh

Maybe they're waiting for Swisher to cool off so people don't remember what we gave up to acquire him

The 2005 team, as it turns out, was one of the greatest (and luckiest) teams in the history of baseball. Comparing anything to that is a waste of time.

Not really comparing, just amazed at the symmetry.

leave macdougal in....let him hit someone/get suspended, and call up someone

I believe the White Sox are 2 for 30 out of the leadoff spot this season.

The bad Tigers pen is doing a pretty good job at shutting us down.

Shades of Cabrera versus Grant Balfour with Josh not getting his revenge.

I'm still kind of amazed Brian hit the ball, even. If he threw anything offspeed, it would have been brutal.

Macdougal "let him hit someone"

as if he's capable of that kind of location
