GAME THREAD: 5/2, Sox @ TEX, 7:05pm WGN

Unfortunately, Jose is still struggling mightily with his offspeed stuff. Second time through the lineup for Rangers is going to be very difficult for him.

Yuck...leadoff walk to 9th hitter. His entire approach to lefties is so screwed when he can't throw a forkball.

You're right, fathom. You have to be able to hit the zone with both fastball and offspeed crap with that lineup.

Two walks to start the inning. He's back to not driving off his back foot, and the ball is dying as it gets to the plate.

Those storms need to get there faster.

Huge batter here in Blalock. Don't give in with a right up next.

Where is Stoney?

He's got a couple of weekends off built into his contract.

Young doesn't strike out like that twice in a row very often...

Goodness, Jose is f***ing awful. Of course, that was just stupid throwing him a fastball inside in that situation. Great job AJP! BTW, for those not watching, Hawk said that AJP has been great behind the plate this season.

I HATE WATCHING DANNY WRIGHT PITCH AGAIN!

That's not what he said. He said that he's been good in the last week.

JC causes 80% of his own problems with walks! :gosoxretro:

Like I said, rain's coming... we can hope for a do over, right?

Stick a fork in him

Well good thing we pitched to the powerful lefty with an open base and two outs. It's not like lefties are hitting over .325 against Jose this year, and righties only at .230.

At this point I'm almost willing to bet that Jose spends a little time in the minors this season. He does have an option remaining. Since he's accumulated over 5 years of service he'll have to consent to any reassignment but with the way he's pitching he won't have much of an argument if KW chooses to go that route.

Kap, how soon until the rain hits, and how severe will it be? BTW, Dye is 2-19 with RISP this season.

It looks like about 20 minutes. It will rain pretty hard but blow through pretty quick. It's starting to fill in like earlier today. We're getting heavy heavy rain where I am now.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that he has nothing on the mound anymore. His forkball has completely abandoned him. His fastball is down into the 89-91 mph range. He doesn't give the Sox a good chance to win many starts with the junk he's throwing up there. Of course, we have to stop challenging lefties with 2 outs if there's an open base and righty on deck. Two straight starts with TERRIBLE pitch calling caused him to give up multiple runs.

You almost don't want them to get out of this bottom half quickly because they're going to short the game if the Sox go 123 next inning.

So Mike Huff is stating that Jose throws a curve ball? Rain is on the way, but the super quick top of the 4th inning might hurt any chance of this not going 5 innings. Jose is so f***ing bad...it's not a good story anymore, it's a glaring hole for the Sox.

I have seen enough of JC for 2009 already! :gosoxretro:

4-1, with Rangers threatening to get more. Please, please let this be his last start with the White Sox. Even Hawk said it's just a matter of time when you're throwing the crap that Contreras is throwing.
