GameThread: White Sox(24-25) vs Athletics(19-29) 7:11 CSN

Vin Mazzaro will start for the Athletics Tuesday, according to manager Bob Geren.

Mazzaro is 2-2 in the minors this season with a 2.38 ERA, 44 strikeouts and 1.04 WHIP through 56 2/3 innings. With no one from the rotation available to start Tuesday due to last Friday's doubleheader, the A's needed to recall someone, and being 10 games out of first, it seemed logical to give another youngster a shot.

Alexei trying to bunt on a 2-0 count in the 3rd inning of a one-run game. Ugh I hate that.

It was 3-1. Do that on 2-1, not 3-1. 3-1 is pretty much a fastball count and you don't give up a fastball down the middle on a bunt. I don't care if the 3B was playing in the bleachers.

I think he tried to do it more than once, in any case it was a swinging count. Also I forgot to mention that there were 2 outs too.

Good pitching by Gavin to keep him at 2nd. Get it going offense!

Oh great, a guy from the minors who we haven't seen before?

Can we call up Beckham for 1 game?

We need to make our move this inning. Now or never guys. Middle of the lineup coming up.

I really hope we don't have to hear everyone complain this series about "we can't hit pitchers the first time we see them".

need to take alexei's approach and hit some line drives, these flyouts aren't gonna work

And hear comes Hawk saying how much we struggle against a pitcher we've never seen before.

Paulie pulling pitches on the outer half, lets spray them to RF Kong, come on

really? that's what this is going to be?

PK desperately needs a day off. Some pretty feeble swings tonight. Cahill's looking like Joe Mays or Chad Gaudin from 5 years ago.

12 in arow retired by Cahill.

This guy looks like Cy Young :P
