Indeed. The question would be, do we trade Thornton or Jenks? Those two guys could bring in a s*** ton of talent.

Can't trade Thorton IMO. I'm weary of trading Jenks but if we could get two great prospects for him, it'd be worth it. It would have to be quite the haul though.

It is amazing how many people really think the Sox would have a .350 team batting average and score 12 runs a game if they had a different hitting coach. They need to look at the players. That's on KW.

Agreed 100%

Unfortunately many hitting / pitching coaches lose their jobs, due to the failures of the general manager

All I want is a different point of view given to some of these players. I also don't want a hitting coach who thinks all it takes is one batting practice session to cure all that ails.

BTW, MacDougal looks horrid

So Jordan Danks got out in his 2nd ab today. His average plummeted down to .357.

True, but the approach we use is horrid. We do not do the little things, and have no idea how to go the opposite way.

Supposedly Buddy Bell said he's major league ready right now.

Thome was on the pre game yesterday saying that Walker had the team in batting practive focusing on line drives up the middle and the opposite way. We maybe working on it in practice, but when the game starts, it's a different story.

Not until he stops striking out so much. Give him the entire year in the minors, and then see what you have.

Ya, I heard that. If we lay an egg against Detroit, we might see him very, very soon.

Why Slayer couldn't have number 6.

I was driving yesterday and listened to Rongey they had some guys on during BP, they were working on going the other way. They work on it, but when it comes to game time it doesn't seem to happen. Isn't there the slightest possibility it is personnel-related?

lol, well played.

Me:

I doubt it. I believe this is the first time the sox will see Huff. If they are gonna be just like recent memory and past indicate, then I don't like their chances. I'll hold up a bit of optimism though.

Pretty obvious. Game isn't over yet, but still.

Striking out everyday he would really feel like part of the team.

Very much so. But Walker clearly isn't getting through to them either. So what's the point of having him around?

Beckham shall get a hit up the middle, guaranteed.

Striking out is fine, as long as you're also hitting the ball out of the park.

And 0-9.

i think once beckham gets his first hit.. they will all start flowing.

Wow...that pitch was very, very low

lol

How come Pods is our best hitter?

The point being there isn't the personnel there to do the job. It would be like firing Cooper because MacDougal and Whisler can't throw strikes. They work on things, it doesn't mean they are truely capable of doing them in a real game.
