What happened to Bartolo?

Featured Replies

Seriously what the hell is up with this guy. He wasn't pitching that awful, I believe his ERA was around 4. Then all of a sudden he goes to the DL with swelling in his knee. Since then I have heard absolutely nothing about him or his situation. Anyone got anything?

The numbers were real misleading

No movement on the fastball and nothing but the fastball

Yeah, Princess is right basically, another has been off the scrap heap we thought could be more than a shadow of his former self and the last few starts he basically threw batting practice. He doesn´t have anything left in the tank.

I thinnk the theory was was spots 1,2, & 3 were locked up but we wanted to try Colon/Contreras for the 4th spot and groom Richard into the 5th. That was my take early in the season but it has certainly changed and for the better. At least for now.

He's down in Arizona... conditioning and working on pitches.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him reappear later in the year.

I see a DFA in Bartolo Colon's future.

He's working on clearing out all the KFC's in the US... but in all seriousness his ERA was very misleading he could not pitch around errors and that led to way too many unearned runs

His two seem was dancing all over the place for the majority of his starts this season. His four seam is what had nothing on it.

Colon had a WHIP of 1.5. He got hit hard.

He was at the Nathans Hot Dog Championship

A snack for Bartolo...

A DFA 4 KFC.

He hasn't left the golden corral except to go to the bathroom, and grab a snack at taco bell.

That reminds me of a story I heard out of cubs spring training a couple years ago where they couldnt find or get ahold of Daryle Ward apparently when they were about to have a game. Turns out he was like down the street eating a taco bell. Lol

According to Joe Cowley, as reported on Boers and Bernstein, KW has no clue as to the whereabouts of Bartolo Colon, who was supposed to make a start in Charlotte this week. I wonder if he’s pulling a similar stunt as Odalis Perez, where he wants to opt out or if this a legitimate concern.

Check the local buffets

Or he's stuck in his bed

Ah, nice merge. Sorry about that guys. I’m inclined to agree with the buffet comments.

I think this is Bartolo's way of retiring.

At his above average skill level, he was one of the best big game pitchers I've seen.
