Where is this mid 90s fastball that Poreda is supposed to have? If he is going to throw in the low 90s with fringe-average secondary pitches he's going to get shelled sooner or later.

Poreda seems to be fine without the big fastball. Coop has success with this so we shall see.

Alexei is inconsistent, sometimes great, so not a great example.

 

Also remember, Coop will teach his pitchers at times to dial it back a couple clicks to get better control and consistent delivery. Not sure if that is the case with AP, we'll have to see.
