How often do you clip your fingernails?

Featured Replies

I don't use a clip but I'll pick them to go shorter. Don't bite them at all. I do get narly hangnails from time to time though from basketball or I assume that is what it is.

Roughly every 2 weeks or so.

Forcibly stopped my biting them off habit about 10 years ago.

any tips on how to quit? most of hte time i dont even notice that i am doing it

never been a biter. I clip them probably once every 5-7 days, or once a week.

Now a better question would be toe-nails. I think I probably do them once a month, if not longer. I just kinda forget about them until they got long enough to where they hurt (as in they cut your toe or provide some discomfort). But I guess if you wear sandals a lot, you'd clip them a lot more often.

My nails are short 24/7 because I bite them way too much. Like to the point where it hurts.

I also bite the skin on the corners of the fingers.

I used to bite them but now I don't. I clip them every week and a half or so. Except my left hand middle finger, I clip that a couple times a week. I don't know why but it really bothers me. It might be a mental thing, but it also grows really wide and flat without a natural curve for some reason.

EDIT: I'm going to clip it right now.

Anyone know exactly what causes a hangnail? They just seem to pop up out of nowhere. Is it just wear and tear of using your hands to do stuff? Seem like the logical answer.

Biters? Is there anything better than suddenly finding a longish nail that somehow was overlooked?

Or how about a big booger in your nose???

I bite the f***ers. My fingernails have never been tell at all throughout my life, as I've bite them when I'm nervous, bored, for the hell of it, and when I fight/box. Now my toe nails.. that's another story.

no kidding. the nails are the dirtiest part of the hand. clipped my nails all my life, fingers 2 times a week, and toes 1 every other week.

Ditto. Too many sports games and too many movies make it even worse. I've been trying to cut down on it, but its hard.
