It was pretty freakin' obvious that the ump had Danks pitching into a postage stamp strikezone in that first inning.

 

I don't know...watching it on the Twins broadcast, away from the Hawkeroo's utter and complete bias, it seemed like most of those close pitches were indeed balls. The only one I really wanted was the pitch that walked Morneau, but even after a second look, I was ready to concede it was probably a ball.

 

Not to say we couldn't have gotten some of those calls, and that pitches worse than some of those have been called for strikes since, but Johnny did himself no favors, that's for certain.
