I don't know what to make of 'Funny People'. It got pretty awkward towards the end. At least there were a few good laughs

okay, just watched Synecdoche NY and I still can't decipher all the layers of it all

BTW, District 9 was nothing special. IMO

It was watchable but not Best Picture nomination worthy.

Watched Big Fan last night. A decent rental. Was expecting it to be a little better although Patton Oswalt was very good.

Is this a comedy or like a drama/comedy type movie?

I finally saw "Hard Eight," the 1st film from my favorite director P.T. Anderson, not great, but not bad. A pretty solid effort from a first-time filmmaker. Clearly, he learned from any mistakes he made on this film.

It's a Dramedy.

A camel?

No no, an airsickness medication.

Hah, Hard Eight is awesome! I need to see that one again...I love the cast.

Watched Paranormal Activity last night.

Pretty scary and pretty solid for a movie that cost about $15k to make.

Netflix still hates me.

Ahh, I have Blockbuster's mail-in service. I'm pretty happy with it so far, and they have everything in Blu Ray, which is more than seems to be the case with Netflix.

Saw Shutter Island last night.

Thought Kingsly was amazing and DiCaprio was good, but the movie was too long and very predictable.

Watched District 9 on blu ray last night. First time we watched it at the theater but I think I enjoyed it more the 2nd time around. Brian, give it another chance after a while and check it out again.

Finally saw Hurt Locker. It was really good.

I saw Funny People yesterday. The 2nd half of that film was incredibly weak. It was probably Adam Sandler's best turn since Punch Drunk Love, but the character was taken in some radically unlikable directions.

I think I may of liked it better in the theatre. I'll watch it again when it comes to HBO or whatever.

I hated EVERY character in that movie.

I had an issue with how much s*** Seth Rogen took without any vindication in this film. He was clearly the most sensible one, but the movie treated him like dirt.

I watched Sunshine last night. Really great movie from 2007. It's about the sun dying and team sent to reignite it. Directed by Danny Boyle, who did Slumdog Millionare and 28 Days Later.

Loved it until the final third of the movie.

It kinda turned into a slasher flick towards the end.

That kind of ruined it for me.
