typical soxtalk fashion.

Overall, once the season is over, and I do not believe this one is, you cut back, not shut down. Pull the starters a little quicker, add a few extra days of rest for the older guys, stuff like that. Getting Peavy a few starts is a nice head start for next year or hopefully a playoff boost.

It aint over till its over , we have 6 of our last 9 games aagainst detroit . but the sox need to play like they want it kind like colorado did toward the end of what the 07 season.

cowley just said on the score that peavy is throwing now. he said he's made significant improvement from yesterday's range of motion.

So Peavy was soft tossing and was suppose to have a bullpen session, but the bullpen session is not happening and Peavy is done for the day.

Not good news, probably means there's something wrong and he won't start @ Yankees.

Don't shut him down otherwise we'll never see him make a start in a White Sox uni after he opts out of contract or demands a trade this winter.

Cowley's Tweets today while watching Jake throw:

Light toss so far for Peavy.

Peavy done playing soft toss already. Not a good sign that he would be moving to a bullpen session.

Bullpen coach Juan Nieves just sent a throat slash to the dugout - translation: Peavy is done for the day.

Cooper now on his cell to tell the bad news to someone.

Coop and Oz meeting now. I'm guessing that it was not the news they wanted to hear on Peavy, at least not for today.

Cowley confirms the bullpen session was canceled and he likely won't make a start this weekend.

Cowley also says that Dan Cooper thinks Peavy might need one more rehab start.

Welcome back Carlos Torres. Ugh

Dan Hudson?

Dan Hudson?

it would be rushing him IMO.....i think DJ carassco has a great chance to finally get a start

Our bullpen is in shambles. I wouldn't remove the one consistent guy from it.

I've been on the Hudson bandwagon, but I'm backing off. He's going to get his 27 minor league starts, and that's good enough. See ya in spring training.

Doesn't look like Peavy will pitch. Cowley reports his tweet on the Score that he felt pain and will likely be shut down for the week.

This is the result of being hit by the liner.

Cowley reporting on the Score they shut down Peavy's bullpen session after 5 minutes due to pain from his elbow. His start for Saturday is now in doubt. He's saying most likely it will either be Carrasco, Torres, or Hudson.

I gotta get on that twitter.

Don't accidentally purchase this instead. People get confused with the 2.

I already have that.

unless we can stay within 3-4 games over the next week, I'd shut him down. If the tigs' lead gets to 6, I'd wave the white flag.

I would understand if we shut him down, but I don't want to wait til March or April to see him pitch in a Sox uniform for the first time. That's me being selfish.

Have Peavy and Buehrle pitch every game from here on out.

Give them robo arms while we're at it.

what to do with your attitude? now thats the real question.

Who, mine? Oh I'm sorry, you're right. This team is great, going to do big things! And there is no need to worry about a guy who is a HUGE part of our future and has tried to fast track back from an ankle injury and got hit in the elbow by a line drive the other day. Why worry, things are just wonderful!

QUOTE (rangercal @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 02:42 AM)
anyone who voted to "shut him down" must have not been a sox fan at the time of the white flag trade and felt the pain of the organization quitting on a season.

What the hell? How is that even comparable when we will have Peavy for a few years after this? Plus, it's pretty clear this team is giving up on the season (well that, and they suck) so why shouldn't we?
