As for Illinois, still not enough passion and desire. It came out in overtime, but more often than not that's a game they're going to lose. They basically play in spurts - 5 minutes of crap, 5 minutes of excellent, repeat. McCamey was no where to be found tonight, Davis continues to show that he's not serious enough about basketball to be a dominant player (despite the fact that statistically he had a good game)

I'm no Illinois fanboy, but I think that the criticism of Davis and McCamey may have gone from justified to excessive at this point. They obviously don't play mistake free ball and both have defensive issues but they had good games last night: McCamey had 8 assists to 2 turnovers and while he only had 9 points it was clear that that his job was to feed the ball inside not shoot. I thought he did a good job handling the ball and pushing the tempo. And Davis...the guy has 20pts on 9-14 with 17 boards. It's true that both could/should have played better defense, but I think it's funny to see people (not just here) rip Davis and say things like if he had any intensity and desire he would easily have had 25 boards instead that 17. And at the same time I see posts about how great Bill Cole is. It's odd.

It's all about playing to your potential. McCamey can be an NBA guard if he looks to score and plays some defense. Davis has literally cost this team games for lack of effort (Utah and Georgia). The play near the end of regulation when he just watched a guy 6 inches smaller and with less talent get two points to tie the game. He just stood there and watched. Bill Cole is a glue guy off the bench who is never going to be a focal point. Anything he gives the team is an added bonus.

And yeah, I think Ryan was the NU guy I was thinking about. Coble is obviously the big loss.

I have a much bigger problem with lack of effort than lack of talent. Davis didn't play defense at all yesterday and had a bunch of mental lapses. And then to stand and watch NW grab a rebound that tied the game ? That just can't happen. My problem with Davis is that I think he can be an absolute star at this level and while he is a very good player his lack of intensity is keeping him from reach his potential.

These refs must be proud that they are gonna help decide the outcome of Michigan/Indiana. Calling fouls on both sides that aren't even there. Sims didn't even touch Rivers on that drive.

This was prolly already talked about but I love the way Hightower runs up to the player that commits the foul then vigorously points.

I know people like to complain about the reffing in the NBA but it is vastly superior to college officiating. There are times I wonder if college refs are even watching the game.

Basketball officiating sucks at all levels.

Well, hell of a game Indiana.

open containers of alcohol, bags of pot, and 2 guns with altered serial numbers. Not good, not good at all. One would think that if you were going to drive around with your car loaded like that, you would try not to speed.

Sounds like a good new years party.

Awful defensive first half so far for SIU.

Good to know we still suck on the road. Silly me for thinking we might end some of this crap tonight. I don't care how good we've been in the 2nd half, we ain't coming back from this one.

Our team is such a joke to watch at times.

We're a bunch of talented idiots. Not to mention I've never seen a group of basketball players in my life so bad at catching a f***in basketball. How the f*** you can't catch a f***in basketball is beyond me.

Booker looks like he is wearing cement boots on defense sometimes.

OK SIU is just unreal with 3 minutes left and a deficit. Tony Freeman with ice in his veins to hit a 3 with 30 seconds left in a tie game
