Peavy will start against the Royals Saturday at the Cell. After having his original expected/hoped return date set for late August, there is little debate on whether he's ready to go, because.. MORE I already knew this yesterday so humph to the scoop I believe that Saturday's game is on WGN so I am excited for the chance to see Jake throw that horsehide. September 16, 200916 yr Can Peavy go at least six, maybe seven innings or is this a five inning 80 pitch deal? If we are assuming we can still pull off a miracle over the choking Tigers and pesky Twins, this game will be as important as the rest and we don't need a middle reliever coming in the fifth inning. Go Peavy! Pitch six strong innings.
September 16, 200916 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) Krush and SnB will be there for SnB's swan song

September 16, 200916 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Part of the Bachelor Party? Ya it is. I can't make it though cause I'm broke as hell 'til next week. Makes me even more jealous now that they get to see Peavy's first start.
September 17, 200916 yr I'll be there. Regardless, the Sun-Times reported today that he will be on a pitch count around 75. He also admitted that he's not 100%, nor does he expect to be 100% this year.
September 17, 200916 yr I can't wait. Him pitching means nothing in the sense that it's going to get us any closer to a division title this year. That ship sailed about a month ago. But it'll be good just to get a look at him for hopefully 2-3 starts just to be sure he's healthy and there's no lingering effects from the earlier problems he had. September 20, 200916 yr I'm going to really like Jake!! So far he looks mighty impressive. His curve ball is wicked and his fast ball tails off very nicely. Can't wait for a full season of Peavy next year
September 20, 200916 yr Does anyone know if Jake will pitch on Friday ? Looks likes were off on Thursday.
September 23, 200916 yr Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll throw it in here... Saw Poreda pitch last night vs the Rockies. He looked awful.
September 23, 200916 yr Author QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 08:27 AM) Does anyone know if Jake will pitch on Friday ? Looks likes were off on Thursday. The Sox also gave Jake Peavy an extra day so his next start will be Saturday night against Detroit, with Freddy Garcia moved up to Friday night.
