Game 1 tonight @ 8:37pm CT

Carpenter (17-4, 2.24) vs. Wolf (11-2, 3.23)

Think I heard Carp this year vs. LA is 2-0 with an ERA of 1.80.

Is this already Carpenter's worst game of the season?

Cardinals are the total upset special. They have been on cruise control since August. If the Twins weren't so beat up and tired, the Yankees would be it. Remember 5 out of the last 10 years the team with the biggest divisional lead at the end of the year, lost their opening round. Out of the 5 that did win, only one made it to the WS, and they lost.

Mark DeRosa with one of the flat out worst plays I've ever seen in thebottom of the 3rd. It's going to end up costing them several runs.

That was as bad as any Chuck Knoblauch throw. Only cost 1 run, weren't getting 2 anyway.

any Chuck Knoblauch reference is a good Chuck Knoblauch reference.

These are the oddest technical difficulties I have ever seen.

And it wasn't just the unbelievably bad throw, he had Ethier dead to rights at the plate but he didn't even look towards home.

What a cock-tease bring Thome to the on-deck circle only to pull him away.

Thome K's on a 3-2 fastball, can't say how many times I"ve seen that.

Baseball is my favorite sport by a pretty decent margin. But GOD DAMN this game is taking forever.

Oh, and the Dodgers bullpen is pretty spectacular. If you're trailing after 5-6 innings against these guys, you're in deep s***.

Broxton just aced Ankiel with a 100 MPH FB to end the game. That was so pretty.

I like Matt Kemp baseball

is that like Big Hurt Baseball?

Ryan Franklin=fail

Gooo team Thome.

Didn't really think there was any chance the Dodgers would take both of the first 2 games against those pitchers.

Wow,that's what coming from behind to win in your last at bat looks like?

That is (was) an alien concept for the 2009 White Sox...

GO BIG JIM!!

Matt Holliday didn't help.

He did his job, the game is over and the series tied if Matt Holliday makes a play that would have been easier for a high schooler. But instead, he turned the Cardinals stealing home field advantage into a potential sweep in one fell swoop. That play might not be remembered quite like the Bill Buckner play or Merkle's boner, but it should be.

wow, can't believe the Cards lost that. I thought only the Cubs lose that kind of way. Holiday must feel terrible.
