This should end up being one of the closest races ever. I love Ubaldo. He's a legitimate ace. But I fully expect it to come down to the big two. I'm taking Roy as well. With the offensive support he has now, there's really no reason he can't win 20-22 games. And it might just come down to a fickle stat like wins to differentiate the two.

Has there been a worse everyday position player in baseball than Carlos Lee? Warning: anyone under 17 should be accompanied by at least 2 adults when viewing these numbers.

BA: .143

HR: 0

RBI: 3

OBP: .169

SLG: .175

OPS: .344

BB%: 3.1

K%: 19.1

LD% 5.9%

WAR: -1.1

Only 65 PA. But that's just bad.

You might as well have a pitcher hit for him.

That was an awful contract the day he signed it. If you knew someone would get fat and lazy, it was Carlos.

Man this would be a killer lineup

Figgins

Beckham

Teixeira

Quentin

Lee

Aramis Ramirez

Pierzynski/Zaun

Melky Cabrera

And go ahead and put David Ortiz at DH.

That'd be like a .450 OPS on the season.

My dad said he wanted to acquire Lee the other day for DH. I asked him if he was crazy.

Pointless to discuss right now, but had we won the Johnny Damon sweepstakes... we'd have this weird situation where Andruw Jones should be playing everyday and Juan Pierre should be sitting in favor of Damon.

Or maybe not. I dont know. But still I'll post.

Looks like Barry Zito might be back. 8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 10 K against the second best offense in the NL. He looked vintage 2002 watching the highlights. If that team gets any type of offense. Wow.

Oh, and I'm now convinced the NL west is the second best division in baseball.

It was brutal even if he was putting up Adam Dunn numbers, but to be fair, you can't ignore the .882, .937, and .831 OPS he put up the last three seasons from the 65 at-bat sample size this season. If anything he (and Tex) should give us hope for Quentin, Beckham etc.. to get it going soon as you know he will.

Padres 8 in a row and not looking back.

I picked a good year to get the Extra Innings package. The NL west is going to be a whole lot of fun to track.

Back on the HGH...

Didn't they start off hot last year then faded? I remember Peavy talking about that actually.

Jose Molina has thrown out 4 Ray runners through 5 innings. 4 CS, 0 SB.

Josh Fields is going to have hip surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

Have you looked at a certain White Sox catcher?

It's between Lee, AJP and Brandon Wood.

David Price just threw a complete game shutout. THAT.TEAM.IS.AWESOME.

The AL East is loaded, you could make a really good case for the Yankees and Rays being the best two teams in baseball and then you still have the Red Sox and Blue Jays who are solid teams.

Vazquez continues to suck. No surprise.

This is the 1st season since 1985 that there has not been one weather postponement this late in the season. Crazy.

***looks up at sky in Chicago, knocks on wood***

Of course the day I post this, there's a rainout in Colorado.

Oh sweet redemption. Watch him pitch 8 innings of shutout ball against us, lol.
