January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) No Alomar, Larkin, or anyone else. The people who vote on the HOF are morons.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) The people who vote on the HOF are morons. They'll get there eventually.
January 6, 201016 yr Author QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) ESPN just said Blyleven got 74.2% and Alomar got 73.7%. For Bert that was exactly 5 votes short of making it in.
January 6, 201016 yr How the hell is Alomar not a 1st ballot hall of famer. He is the greatest 2nd baseman of all time.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) How the hell is Alomar not a 1st ballot hall of famer. He is the greatest 2nd baseman of all time. They're already projecting ahead to Beckham.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) They'll get there eventually. Sure it doesn't change the fact that Alomar not being a first ballot HOF is ridiculous.
January 6, 201016 yr Very happy to see Dawson finally get in. Alomar not being a first ballot hall of famer is a travesty.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 11:08 AM) How the hell is Alomar not a 1st ballot hall of famer. He is the greatest 2nd baseman of all time. it's pretty disgusting. Good to see Dawson in there, though.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) I'm sorry, but Alomar and Bly>Dawson Without question. I would of gone with Raines as well. Edited January 6, 201016 yr by Brian
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) I'm sorry, but Alomar and Bly>Dawson Hell, Tim Raines is a more deserving candidate than Dawson. As is Barry Larkin.
January 6, 201016 yr Its sad to see the HOF turn more into a joke each year. Its turning into the Hall of Really Good
January 6, 201016 yr I've got no problem with Dawson. But there's no way Alomar shouldn't of been in this year.
January 6, 201016 yr The MLB Hall of Fame is the HOF that the most people care about, yet its the one voted on by the most idiotic douchebags of the bunch...
January 6, 201016 yr Author So for all of the columns you see from baseball writers about how bad the fans are at the all-star ballot, this Hall of Fame vote shows they are just as dumb.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) How the hell is Alomar not a 1st ballot hall of famer. He is the greatest 2nd baseman of all time. He spit in an umpire's face. I don't agree with it, but his appearance to the media is the reason.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) So for all of the columns you see from baseball writers about how bad the fans are at the all-star ballot, this Hall of Fame vote shows they are just as dumb. That's a great point. Some of these guys just don't get it. How a writer does not vote for a 12X All-Star, and 10X Gold Glove Award winner is beyond me. I'm ready to see the voting go to the players (peers of the nominees) and let the writers stick to writing.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (earthshiner @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) Its sad to see the HOF turn more into a joke each year. Its turning into the Hall of Really Good I agree with that, but I'll also say it's becoming harder and harder to decide who belongs. And next year, they'll have Jeff Bagwell, Larry Walker, and Rafael Palmeiro. All of which probably have the numbers, but I don't trust at all. Obviously Palmeiro was busted, but the other two I don't think were clean, but it'll never be proven.
January 6, 201016 yr How does Tim Raines only get 30% of the vote? That is even more ridiculous than Alomar not getting in on the 1st ballot.
January 6, 201016 yr QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) That's a great point. Some of these guys just don't get it. How a writer does not vote for a 12X All-Star, and 10X Gold Glove Award winner is beyond me. I'm ready to see the voting go to the players (peers of the nominees) and let the writers stick to writing. See, that wouldn't work, because then deserving players would get in/not have to wait.
